When Boston Celtics Management decided to set forth an action against Ime Udoka they sent the Celtics in a downfall that will last for a few years, 5 to 10, we have already seen ONE, 2022-23.

Udoka set forth an action against him by sexually harassing a member on the staff. Nobody to blame but himself, and had the franchise tolerated it and swept it under the rug, it would have only made thing worse and the organization dysfunctional. You cannot tolerate a person in a position of power being abusive to people that essentially report up to him.

Portland is not Washington, they will not give Dame away for free. That is an abysmal offer giving no long term value, even if you add 4 firsts, and 3 swaps.

Celtic's traded Smart and they thought they had a deal to trade Brodgon as well but that Brogdon trade failed because he is injured. This trade plan may turn into a disaster because only half of it got completed so far. If the Cektics wind up with Brodgon on the team to repkace Smart they will have a similar year to this past one, a failure.

I don't think the Celtics make the Smart trade if the Brogdon trade had gone through. Although i guess maybe if they decided they wanted Jones, which would have been smart, and would have alleviated the guard gap.

They clearly need to do something to add another guard. White is good, and a very legit starter, but Brogdon it seems is a huge risk, and Prichet is just a deep bench guy. Maybe they think Davidsion can be that guy, but he is really small.

I did see what Beal went for, and he had a the only no trade contract in the league, and is generally considered overpaid by about 20 million annually. Plus the new Washington front office just desperately wanted to get rid of guys and start over. this is why they took very little for KP as well.

To my understanding there were at most 2 bidders on Beal, and one of them wasn't really sure they wanted him (Miami)

If Dame becomes available, it is very likely that at least a handful of teams would be involved in the bidding . Minimum bid is probably Miami with Herro, and all of the draft capital they have to offer. Knicks would likely be involved, and they have some young players and a lot of potential picks to offer

Turn into? He is a good player. He's a unicorn in fact. He's 7'3" and can shoot threes. Plus he plays well above average. He basically averages 20 points and 8 rebounds per game for his career.

I don't understand how anyone could think getting Porzingis + 2 firsts for smart is a terrible trade. Maybe the fit works, maybe it doesn't. But in a vacuum Porzingis is 100% the better player and you recoup valuable draft picks. The trade was a win for Brad and literally every national writer has been saying that since it became official.

He’s a significantly better player than Marcus smart. On top of it the Celtics have more than enough ammunition to go and get a Marcus smart replacement.

It’s a massive win for the Celtics.

Porzingas IS a good player.

He's an efficient scorer/shooter who is no worse than an average defender.

He just has a difficult time staying healthy.

I liked Smart but team dynamics were broken and moving him is the biggest shakeup they could make with the smallest loss of talent on the starting roster.
