And like, people talk about Jones (and yeah, Jones looks like I could chuck him with one hand like a javelin, fair enough) but hot take: bulk is more important for forwards.

People always crow about defensemen "withstanding the heavy forecheck, especially in the playoffs" and "such and such will get abused" but the heavier you are, the more likely you are the get hit. I love a wiry defenseman against a super heavy opponent. If anyone got abused in the playoffs, it was Trouba who goes out of his way to welcome the contact.

Meanwhile, in today's NHL, most wingers have to live on the boards and have more transition responsibility than ever.

Kravtsov doesn't have the hands to play peekaboo like a Panarin/Gaudreau/DeBrincat.

Panarin gets pushed off the puck on 50/50 pucks as it is (first goal against) but he has a payoff.

Just gonna say, he has you guys right where he wants you lol. Even I thought some of my 4d chess theories might've been a stretch, I might've been reading into it too much, but nope. The madman is really doing it lol, if you really think he legitimately got injured 3 times in 4 games I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. It'll all make sense soon enough. I thought he was basing everything off of Early-Soviet era satirist playwrites with an aesthetic veneer of Elizabethan theatre but he's definitely showing more of a Machiavellian streak than I imagined he would, as well as integrating Ancient Chinese military tactics to his game. This is the Art of War.

Gauthier’s path to a NHL career as a regular is simple.

Get really good at defense (with his size and speed he should be excellent at transition defense) and digging in the corners and play yourself into being a good top 9 support player. Has every tool available to do this already so it’s not like he isn’t capable. The goal he scored today was silly, but he doesn’t even need to do shit like that to be good/effective.

It's a sign

All rise for Vitali Kravtsov... even if he can't

I’m getting way ahead of myself but what the hey.
Gorton and Hughes are gonna kick themselves for not parting with a 4th round pick for Julien Gretzkyier.
The price has just gone up.
:sarcasm:

If I have 3 things to
Do people still think Strome is better than Tro?
Hang my hat on it is...........
1. KAM being a superstar some day (hence my 3 year avatar)
2. GOAT finally scoring and possibly taking off! (Remains to be seen, but man oh man.........again noticeable with 2 outstanding scoring plays.
3. My cousin Vinny. Watching him since early Panthers. HE is a shooter/scorer. With Zibby and Panarin on PP he will flourish.

Oh and 4.........be patient with FILIP CHYTIL. Get back on the ice and stay there dammit!

Loved Kakko’s game yet again. The points will come. We’re looking at a 60+ point player.

Beautiful goal by Gauthier. Possibly the highlight of the season even in April.

Please keep Miller on the third and Jones on the second; the new pairings offer much better balance.

Bring on AZ.

I don't know what's going on with Laffy. He doesn't look completely lost but it's not clicking like it was.

Maybe it's a major adjustment for him, playing with a guy like Panarin. He's always been 'the guy'. He needs to learn to get open and in scoring areas when Panarin has the puck and to be ready for the pass/opportunity. Still doing all the dirty work but they're not on the same page yet. He's had chances but he has a lot more to give
Or playing on the right side. He's not complaining, but it's never been something he seemed comfortable with before. But everyone bitches "just put him on RW". Well, here ya go.

Huge plays by Jones and Gauthier in the 3rd. Most of our forwards were very good in this one. Defense was shaky but are top two lines were strong all day and getting that bottom 6 and bottom pairing contribution was key today.

Giving it to Dellandrea at the end was fine by me. The Sillinger play was bad enough. These guys just cruising around knocking people backwards on the ice is bullshit. I don't care if they're kids.....if it isn't deliberate then it's dumbass as all get out.
Reminder, Kreider also drilled him earlier in the period. Nice open ice hit, knocked him on his ass.

Not even relatively amusing. You're wasting our time. Take your Kravy posters and go home

He asserts himself on the kid line...he constantly defers to Panarin when he's on the 2nd line.
