Huge plays by Jones and Gauthier in the 3rd. Most of our forwards were very good in this one. Defense was shaky but are top two lines were strong all day and getting that bottom 6 and bottom pairing contribution was key today.

Giving it to Dellandrea at the end was fine by me. The Sillinger play was bad enough. These guys just cruising around knocking people backwards on the ice is bullshit. I don't care if they're kids.....if it isn't deliberate then it's dumbass as all get out.
Not sure if that’s “the book” on the rangers or just the way Dallas plays. I’ve always considered Dallas one of those teams that is comfortable with the borderline stuff. “Gamesmanship”, the apologists call it. I think it’s just gimmicks to make up for poor play.

That's a major IF. We'd be Cup Favorties, no doubt.

I wish this team had more structure to fall back on. It doesn't have to be 100% trap/counter attack but the wide open pond hockey aint it either.
Structure, commitment and accountability. This team finds more of that, we're going places.

Imagine that stood?

Pavelski was standing in Austin when the Stars gained the zone.

I'm generally against the offside review when we get the microscope out to look at skate blades but those types of calls are why it exists.
tbh, I'm indifferent. If it had no bearing on the play but just a 'technicality'... meh.

He really needs the Buch training that happened to him. Same shit went down with Buch. Don't give up on him, get him in the gym this summer and you'll have a better player
Totally agree. Wish VK had stuck it out the first time and for sure the second time. But here we are. He’s still young and talented. I’m writing off the first half of this season for him but as long as the team supports him and he keeps a good attitude I still have hope. Let’s not write him off.

Mika’s one touch deflection pass to Trocek right into his wheelhouse for a 1 timer was ridiculous.

Trocek with a couple of nice finishes today to the top of the net, love to see it.
Yeah. He didn’t just deflect that pass. He juiced it up. That helps a lot giving the goalie less time to get across. I’ve been very disappointed with the rangers waiting too long to shoot. Allowing the goalie to set up. This was a huge improvement. In fact I think The Rangers shot more quickly today in general. And it makes a big diff.

Dallas gimmick hockey. And it almost worked. Glad to have replay this time.

I have no idea how that was missed live by both linesmen.
You’re surprised that nhl officials are incompetent? You know better. It was probably the same guy that tripped Kakko leading to a scoring chance for Dallas. Lafreniere dying on his way to the bench and the linesman has no clue Kakko’s gonna jump on. Figger it out, stripes!

More of a hypothetical statement. Never surprised by the incompetence of the officials, but they always seem to strive for new lows.

Yeah. I was also speaking rhetorically. Think we can all agree the officiating is horrible. That said, today’s game, I thought the penalty calls were good. Not too much game management. I felt the players for the most part decided this one.

I'll die on this hill-Gauthier deserves to stay in the lineup.Even when he isn't scoring, his speed and forechecking causes problems.Good things happen when he's on the ice.His effort on his goal today was amazing and well deserved.Good job by Gallant switching the pairs around too.it worked wonderfully

Just follow him to the net and try to pop in the inevitable rebound.

I don't know if he has the body for pro hockey.

He's like 6'4" and never filled out at all. He's closing in on the age where you don't.
Maybe it’s his skating motion, but I can’t recall seeing a guy whose 6’4” look so short. It’s like he puts on his skates and becomes 5’10”
