Yes we do. Outside of Chaput, who may not even be in the organization next year, we have no NHL level prospects at the center position in the AHL.

Okay, one example...Got another?

Or look at it the other way...think for all the teams that are glad they didn't trade their pick for a prospect.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Rychel is dealt at the draft, even for a lower-end first rounder or a second this year and next. When we picked Rychel, we were in a position where we needed to fill the prospect pool badly. Since then our LW position has been fortified by the likes of Saad, Hartnell, Milano, Bittner, and Anderson (who of course was already in the fold, but has proven quite a bit since we drafted Kerby).

We no longer need him, and the FO seems like they don't want anything to do with problem children. They may want to liquidate the asset before he torches his own value. Of course, it probably depends on who is on the board, but with Jarmo's guru-like drafting prowess, he could really like a guy and deem Rychel expendable.

I'm not saying that I necessarily want this to happen, but I could easily see this being an option.

It helps that we still have Campbell on the roster and Foligno can always move over. Center depth can be achieved without callups sometimes, y'know.

It'd be good to have someone else developing, to be sure, but we don't need another Imminent Callup that would require a protection slot.

This damn expansion draft is going to cause a lot of problems.

If they're already in the AHL, then it's the same thing, they're eligible for the expansion draft. So, if anything, delay putting guys like Nutivaara and Carlsson in the AHL.

If a center call-up you're discussing is not in the AHL, then bringing them to the NHL this coming year wouldn't make them eligible for an expansion draft until what, 2019?

And five Elvis songs in one article about hockey...whoever woulda thunk it. In The Ghetto was good stuff...just like the save. Is he jumping up the prospect list? Are Forsberg and Dansk just fodder now?

Dansk probably is, unfortunately (unless he shows a major rebound soon). I wouldn't write off Forsberg quite yet, tho.

Dansk probably never plays in a CBJ sweater. Kid doesn't have it anymore. Put up pretty bad numbers back over in Europe this past season. I'd expect Forsberg to battle with Elvis (should he sign) in Cleveland next season. Time to get Elvis to North America, imo.

I think that is pure **** as assessment. Number one goalie at Swedish top flight level at the age of 22, beating out year older Norwegian international goalie. The team also didn't relegate either.

No he didn't. He put up pretty good numbers on a bad team (.911 Save % and 2.68 GAA). While his team didn't win that many games, it was a successful season since he kept them out of the regulation round. The only way Dansk would have won games for them was skate the puck down the ice and shoot on the other goalie.

Dansk is loaned to Rögle for another season (http://www.roglebk.se/artikel/79908/), so I doubt Dansk ever plays for the Jackets, but he's still talking about playing in the NHL and how great of a development environment Rögle is for them. He's the starting goalie for Rögle next season, so if he did so badly, why would they want him back?

Woah...sorry I hit so close to home for a few. Guy is barely a career .900 sv % goalie regardless of what league he plays, but he couldn't hack it in NA.

Quite possibly the worst post ever on this board. Korpisalo was nothing a year or two ago and now he is our future. You can NEVER give up on a goaltender.

The first time Merzlikins is in net for a game where the Monsters are down a goal late will be interesting, will there be an "Elvis has left the goal crease" pun?

RedStorm is hardly the first person that has posted Dansk is done as an NHL prospect here before and he's not alone in that opinion now.

While I agree that its too early to completely give up on him, he is the lowest ranked G prospect having been passed up by everyone else in the system, while being the highest draft pick. At this point he's definitely a long shot to come back to NA.

I always thought Dansk was extremely overrated from his time with the Erie Otters on. He didn't have a single good post draft year, and lost his job in Erie for fricks sakes, and I don't know why people didn't care about that. As a rule, be patient with goalies, and so we should hang on to him for at least another year to see if he can turn it around. But his career to date has been an unmitigated disaster, and he has a lot of significantly better goalies ahead of him.

Dansk had better season this year than Merzlikins and Korpisalo prior to their breakthrough seasons. It ain't even some huge gap between Merzlikins and Dansk in the games they play now.

Of course with the Blue Jackets it can go many ways but I would not worry about Dansk's career so much after his first season in a good environment.

There's a difference between "his professional hockey career" and "his NHL hockey career". We kind of care about the latter and don't give a damn about the former. :)

Those are about to intertwine with the latest projection. It might even accelerate if Blue Jackets spare him from a NHL slave contract and Dansk keeps up the good work in those faraway lands with world class goalkeeping coaching.
