Veeti Vainio's Blues went bankrupt and cannot partake in the Finnish SM-liiga next season unless someone takes care of the debt.

The play-off pair Nutivaara-Nummelin is currently tied 1-1 in victories.

Time for a contract and to start adjusting to NA ice!

Nutivaara has been great in the 3 playoff games so far, solid defensively and quite flashy offensively. If he could play at this level every night, I could see him in the NHL as soon as next season. But I don't think he's ready yet, in the regular season he had too many meh games when he's wasn't playing aggressively like he should.

Merzilkins' Lugano after that 5:0 win got another three in overtimes. Looks like Elvis handles the pressure well. The NLA finals gonna be between 5th seed Lugano and 8th seed Bern. Interesting that Bern has lost only one game in the playoffs series against the 1st and 2nd regular season teams.

Monsters cruising tonight, Josh Anderson...one of my personal favorite prospects with a goal

I just have a bad feeling we are going to loose him when the expansion draft comes around and he's going to become reliable 20-25 goal scorer

I have a feeling there will be other CBJ players/prospect exposed that will garner more interest than Anderson. Keep in mind, CBJ can only lose 1 player per expansion team.

I was just about to comment after lat night's game: with all the focus on guys like Werenski, Milano, Rychel and Bjorkstrand it seems like Andy has been forgotten.

Last year he had a great camp and was one of the last cuts. Then when he was called up I seem to remember Dubi mentioning he was impressed with the kid and knew it was just a matter of time before he reached the NHL. He certainly did not look overwhelmed.

Not sure he's a 25 G scorer in the NHL...he's only on pace for 27 Gs in the AHL this year but he's big and only twenty-one years old. 18 Gs and 36 Pts in 53 Games is promising! I still like him too and think he and Rychel play well together. Would like to see more of him...picture him as solid third line winger.

The problem for him is how are we going to make room for him on the team? Our older players on the first and second lines will be on the third line when our higher end prospects start playing on the first and second lines.

Anderson would make a great fourth liner. I think his abilities translate well to the NHL, we've already seen it. But at the same time he's not a pure scoring type that we should feel bad about putting on the fourth line.

We definitely have a space for him, that is unless you'd prefer Clarkson, Campbell, or Boll.

Yeah, but we are stuck with those three for at least one more year.

I don't agree. We're getting zero value out of Boll so that is an obvious buy-out.

The other two can sit in the 13/14 spots (if Clarkson isn't on the shelf).

Clarkson we're stuck with. Boll & Campbell I agree with Major- either buy them out or bury them in the A.

There is room for 3 of 4 of Bjorkstrand, Milano, Rychel & Anderson.

I would get rid of all of them any way I could. Problem is, we aren't in charge of who stays/plays and who doesn't.

Really liked his energy in the Saturday's game vs. Chicago. Unlike Rychel, who was invisible. Andy's got 10 points in the last 9 games and currently on the 5 games point streak.

Not me, been burned by this far too many times.

Me too.

But in this case I think we should plan on 2/3 of Milano/Bjork/Rychel joining the top 9, we just need to have the insurance in place in case two or more of them need to be sent down at once. It looks to me that, between Campbell, Clarkson, Broadhurst, Chaput, etc.., there are enough guys you can bring into the 4th line if need be, and guys like Karlsson/Anderson/Calvert can slide into more minutes. I was going to say it's only a good idea if we add more capable guys on two-way deals, but I think it's unlikely that we'll burn through that many players absent a massive injury crisis.
The issue with finding injury replacements in crisis is real, but doesn't apply to AHL quality guys like Chaput. It's damn hard to get a top 4 D in a crisis, it's really not hard at all to get a guy like Chaput for a draft pick, any time of the season.

If we get lucky and get Laine/Matthews/Puljujarvi AND they need to play right away, that probably means only one spot for Milano/Bjork/Rychel to fight over, which is really nothing to worry about. That's almost a problem because of lack of opportunity, which could be de-motivating.
