A mediocre 2C is going to make all the difference.

I mean we're only talking moving up to being a bubble team.

Mediocre means not very good, not middle of the road. I don't agree that Dubois is a not very good 2c.

But but I thought that this guy was Carey Price 2.0?
Such a stupid stupid post. Jesus Christ. Hart is great, the Flyers are utter trash.

As a Habs fan, I’d love to get Hart. I believe he will be a legit#1 Star Goalie. Here is what I would offer.

Habs 2024 1st Unprotected+ Hoffman (cap dump)+Allen for Hart and Provov.

Hart could be Price’s replacement and our goalie for the next decade.

My lord. No. No. No. No. No. We even get a cap dump!

Um, no. Rebuilding teams should never trade unprotected first round picks.

I still very much believe in Hart so I'd prefer him over our current tandem. But what do the Flyers want?

I'd definitely be interested in Hart as a Hab fan, but I am guessing the asking price would be pretty high.

I have only seen a few Flyer games this year and he looked solid, his stats aren't great but it doesn't help when you play behind Ristolainen and Tony Deangelo.

Mediocre: “Of moderate quality; not very good.” Same thing. Pretty fair description of PLD. Nice try though.

I wouldn't trade him. He could still have another good 10-12 years left. Even if they rebuild, finding a reliable goalie is not always easy especially a guy with good number 1 potential. Just keep him and not have to worry about goaltending, fix the other areas of the team. You trade him and it just gives you another piece you need to use assets to go out and find again.

Not worth trading for Hart cause the Flyers hold him with high value. Flyers are not trading Hart for cheap because his numbers are meh. His potential is still there and the Flyers are going to hold onto that hope for a while yet. Don't blame them, I would do the same in their shoes.

I've had this discussion before, in a non hockey conversation.

Whatever the definition of mediocre, I definitely wouldn't call Dubois a 2c who's "not ver good" or even "of moderate quality." A big point 2c who's scoring at a pace of 74 points per 82 games through 61 games at the age of 24 is very good.

How many 2c's have more points than him?

And therein lies the problem...Hart will likely be far more valuable to the Flyers than what can be acquired for him in a trade. So, not sure there's an upside for the Flyers.

This is true but Flyers fans holding Hart at top 5 pick value is a massive reach. I respect the Flyers holding onto hope and high value but top 5 pick? Come on man.

The only way I see the Flyers trading him is maybe for a guy close to his age and potential. Something like the Patrick for Glass type trade.

Habs will ride out our Allen/Monty/Primeau train for now. But I fear how big our fan base is and goaltender is one of our rebuilding needs to don't be surprised at more trade ideas like this.

Enough that I’m not going to bother listing them. He’s a middling 2C.

Carter Hart (48 games) will most likely play twice as many games then Samuel Montembeault (28 games) this season, that makes a difference, if Montembeault played in 48 games his numbers would probably be twice as worse.

That's not how it works lmao, goaltender stats are already averaged out. They don't just get "twice as worse" because he plays twice as many games.
