I don't trust any number posted anywhere unless I see a source that I can check out, whether it's your 2-8% false accusations, or 25% of women being sexually assaulted. Without examining how the term is defined (sexual assault is often defined as "unwanted touching," which could range from rape or just making out and he went a little far then stopped when told no), how the data was collected, who was doing the collecting (are they biased, trying to strengthen a political argument, etc.), and how a sample was chosen and then projected to the general population, I'm skeptical of all posted numbers.
