Injury Report: Captain JT injury (aftermath)

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
First, hoping for a speedy recovery but in terms of timeline, this is the playoffs, misinformation and being coy is a hallmark.

So I highly doubt we'll get anything close to precise details on anything about his injury, nor any real estimate or speculation on his return date until he's actually in practice and not wearing a non-contact jersey.

Incredible news that JT is back home. If he's able to make an appearance at the rink before the game tonight (I doubt he would travel to Montreal for 3 and 4) then that would really fire the boys up.

Go Leafs Go!

Assuming he has no concussion symptoms over the next few days, we can hope to have John back on the ice by game 3/4.
He needs a "couple" of days to make 100% sure he is good to go, but i´m over the moon he is back home.

Concussion or no concussion, John is in no rush to come back, even though he is a crucial part of our roster.
The lads need to pick up the slack and win for our Captain.

I honestly had a hard time sleeping last night. Overjoyed to hear he’s “okay”

I actually almost cried today.
When I saw the whole thing live I was just sitting silently, waiting for something to happen, and was finally released after he put up his hand.

And today the whole event just hit me so hard. I tried to explain my girlfriend what happened but I couldn't...

Seeing that he is okay and home is a huge relief. I dont even care if he comes back this year or not, just get healthy and be with your family Captain.

they have him listed as 'out indefinitely' ...I doubt he will be on the ice any time soon.
my best hope is he is strong enough to be at the rink to add some moral support.
If he is at home running around today and tomorrow doing everything he normally does and has no symptoms of concussion JT will tell Leafs he wants to play .. bet big on it and you will profit .. he won't rest at home it is not in his nature

I'm with you man. All last night I kept waking up with that horrible image of him trying to get up and slumping down burned into my brain. So glad that he's back home and safe

So glad that tests seem to be clear, and he's released and back home resting. Probably best case scenario we could have hoped for. Hope he makes a full recovery. That was scary.

The news could be even better if Montreal announced Perry was out needing surgery for his knee. Because Tavares' face is tougher.

He’s done for the rest of the playoffs for sure.
Mostly likely out for part of next season.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t play next season

Yeah......I will listen to doctors on this one instead.

My cousin Andrew is a neurosurgeon and although he obviously cannot diagnose JT (as he was not involved directly) I will take his advice over a poster.

Putting stuff like this out there is really where the mods should step in and press the delete button. Just conjecture without any basis or backing up.

Watch it in real time. it happened in a millisecond. No way Perry could have planned that Tavares falls right in front of him with his head at knee height when he already had speed pursuing puck. Hockey accident and anyone thinking there is intent here is sick.
I've rewatched it several times and still feel that, especially as a world class athlete, perry had the awareness and ability to get out of the way if he wanted to. You think I'm sick for believing humans are capable of incredibly stupid split second decisions on the heat of the monent when the stakes are "high" and adrenaline is flowing? ever heard of low impulse control?

you guys must be really naive. I thought this board had a higher average age than tiktok.

He’s been discharged and is out indefinitely

Makes sense since they’ll need a few days to check up on his condition. But it’s good hes out of the hospital.

It's really nice to hear. Happy he is home with his family. I hope his next 24 hours are smooth and that this doesn't alter any part of his life in general.

It's a hockey forum... it's where fans come to talk out their @#$. Let's not put a lot of stock into what anyone says here. Some of us will post the worst case scenario just to brace ourselves for a possible outcome. Tavares having a concussion now feels like good news compared to a lot of other possible outcomes.
