Prospect Info: Caps Top Prospects General Discussion Thread Vol. 2 - 2021-22

Anyone know is there’s a place to find info on TOI with teammates for the WHL? Trying to see how much of Suzdalev’s production has happened when he’s playing with and without Bedard.

Always good info that would be.

Usually plays on the second line but he does play in the PP with Bedard. Don't have minute breakdowns though.

Miro sounds like a bust tbh...

Aside from Suzdalev and maybe Hofer, I don't know if there's a whole lot in the pipeline to be excited about.

Miro has dominated when he is in the MHL, has been in the KHL but not getting a ton of playing time yet. The dude is just getting back from cancer...lets give him some slack. He isn't a bust in anyway.

Hey come on now re: Miro.

Please tell me what you’re basing this on.

Just drafted after getting over cancer. The fact that he was called up to the KHL at his age is nothing to turn your nose up at. Patience.

Exactly. It's his first time playing with men. Burakovsky had a similar experience before his draft year. Miro showed well in the KHL at first in very small sample sizes. The plays he made showed real intelligence and savvy, things that'll translate down the road. If he'd be in a position there to get real minutes it might've been better to keep him there, but the opportunity wasn't really there, so he went back down and is playing great.

It's still early to judge him, but there's been nothing but positive signs this year.

4 total points in 23 games is a bit underwhelming. Not sure the fact that he isn't even able to get on the ice is very reassuring.
As mentioned, he’s just getting over cancer. He was producing over a PPG clip in the MHL and at a PPG clip in the VHL which is why he got called up quickly to the KHL. When he wasn’t stuck on the fourth line with plugs he got some points. Think we should be a bit more patient with him before declaring him a bust.

With time spent between the MHL, VHL, and Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), he has been able to stand out as an all-around player that can score, hit and defend against any level of competition. He has 18 games played in the KHL with Avangard Omsk, where he has scored two goals and added an assist for three points. In the VHL with Omskie Krylia, he had three assists through four games, and in the MHL with Omskie Yastreby, he had over a point per game with eight goals and three assists for 11 points through eight games.
For a player that has battled through more than most people his age, Miroshnichenko has shown no fear in his return to playing at such a high level. Aside from his scoring ability, his physicality hasn’t taken a step back and he remains a sound defensive player. The Capitals have secured themselves a true stud, and he could be ready to make the transition to North American hockey as soon as next season.

I thought he still had at least another year or two before he could come over? Or is the article talking about the transition in skill level only...?

Will be interesting to see if Miro comes to Hershey next year. I suspect they will let him stay in KHL for one more year but I’d rather see him come play in North America.

I wonder if Miro coming over like Trineyev is on the table once his playoffs are over. Would love to see him get a few games in Hershey.

Trineyev is headed over shortly. Rumor has it he’ll be loaned to Dynamo Moscow again next season, which would make sense for the most part
As for Miro, I doubt we’ll see him until the end of next KHL season, as I’m not sure if he can sign a ATO with Hershey while under contract with Omsk. Will be fun to see him at the tail end of next year though
