My body was much better in terms of durability on the sports field before 29. Around 30 wheels became to fall off (with bigger recovering times obviously). Nothing serious yet fortunately, but Im 40 now and keep going with amateur veteran tournaments :P

The difference between 30 and 35 is very big obviously. You see the game and want to get to the ball... but you're half a second too late constantly.

PS: Older guys have more respect to each other though so games look friendlier at least.

PPS: I remember we were talking modems or smth, and I discovered we are ~ same age with NBTW. That was f***ing 10 years ago IIRC... Seems like almost yesterday.

As a 45 year old man, soon to be 46, seeing 29 years old as old makes me laugh and cry at the same time.
I was not a pro level athlete back in my late 20s but played a crap load of ice hockey until I was about 30 then took a long break till my late 30s and that was when I realized that no matter how good a shape I was I was slower, heh. Was even more noticable trying to pickup up jujitsu again also in my late 30s compared to my early 20s and that sucked (none of that wresting jujitsu crap) getting thrown again.

Age comparing yourself to others around your age is really weird. Ethan Hawke is my age and like seeing him in Moon Knight looking pretty damn old is strange. Got some genetic luck from my dad's side of the family so don't look my age but still. I just saw that Vin Diesel just turned 55, doh.

I can't stand Vogs as he's just a mouth piece for the Caps marketing angle.
I thought what he said right off the bat wondering where the team would have been last year with league average goaltending. Last seasons was definitely the worst goaltending season I can recall since the AO era.

It’s super weird isn’t it? I see some of my wife’s friend‘s husbands, and I’m like, “holy F is that her Dad”? Then I’m like “holy F I don’t look that old do I”?! No bday ever bothered me until 50. oof.

I can move into one of those 55+ retirement communities in a few months, and I just might do it. Dinner at 4, in bed asleep by 7, sounds heavenly. If it weren't for having a 7 year old with me, I'd be so there.

So all you young pups talking about how old you feel, bite me!

Hey I was admiring some sweet ass elevator townhomes, 4 levels, rooftop patio, then I saw I had to wait 3 years to qualify and I also have an 11 year old lol…

Yeah 50 is the time where you are like, "Oh shit age is really happening". Hell even started figuring my retirement strategy, etc.., heh. Age catches up to us all so I'm sure it will for me probably sooner rather than later.

Free standing houses? I've been in a condo for 18 years I just want a small single family home for just me. Staying in the area while my Dad's still kicking but will probably move somewhere more north after. Even my modest price range I don't even get a lot of options in VA even in Winchester. Been eyeballing Minneapolis for a while. Just give me a garage, decent area for a home theater, broadband, and that is about it.

Apologies for the thread jack/OT.

Well, that's the kind of stupid shit that should always be taken with a lump of salt, eh?

the "solid" list consists of nearly every goaltender who has maintained his station for a long ass time, and the tier 2 version is largely players who have stood out over a short sample or been given a benefit of the doubt due to "what could be"

actually starting and hopefully starting aren't the same

If you’ve got Gibson in your 3rd tier you’re tiers are dumb

I dont want to hear any of that.

At 37 im at the best fit of my life and feel a lot better than at 30-marker :)

Looking at 29 average for me is like, ”this is a young team just heading towards its prime”

That's cool I've also done martial arts along with hockey and at 41 I'm really starting to feel age now lol. I assume then that you did Japanese jiujitsu (closer to Judo) and not Brazilian JJ

Hopefully mods will be lenient with OT stuff since its July...

I turned 40 february this year. Got dumped by my girlfriend of three years, lost a job, got a back sprain, Covid, stomach issues and two separate colds within a 2 month span. Just a great way to start middle age.

But, now im swimming every day, in excellent health, with a good job and currently on vacation. Just gotta fix the wife + kids part so i have someone to burden when i turn 50 and inevitably break down completely.

Life!

Btw, it's weird realizing that i joined this forum qt 30, and ten years just kinda flew by.
