I don't understand the hate Thomas gets for getting visibly frustrated. The fanbase complains "Kyrou doesn't look like he cares" and now Thomas cares too much. There is plenty to complain about with how bad the team is without nit-picking the mannerisms of its best players.
i think it's an issue when he does it instead of getting back into the play....plus he seems to be the only one who does it constantly....body language says a lot and looking up to the rafters does not show he "cares" lol defeated body language vs. determined body language. guess which one is looking up to the rafters?

I think there are two-flavors to this:

1.) Concerns over long-term leadership.
2.) Fowler made some comments prior to the Armstrong presser about teammates being frustrated which 'leak into the team'. Thomas has become the assumed poster child there. Blues Twitter/Facebook is all over this and ready to ship him off.

Point 1 is a legit conversation. Counterpoint would be that McDavid, MacKinnon, Draisaitl, Tkachuk, Toews, etc. are all pretty emotional leaders. It's not without precedent, but its worthy of a conversation

Relating to Point 2: The moment that stuck out to me, last night, was the body language when Parayko dumped it in in OT...Thomas lost the puck but got into position to get the pass from Parayko and was very clearly frustrated at him for dumping it in.

If he's frustrated with teammates behind the scenes, then I think we do have an issue that needs addressed. I tend to think that's not the case, and that this is him bearing the weight of this team's (and his individual) failure, amped by Armstrong's press conference.

Ultimately, I'm with you - assuming he's not a tyrant to his teammates, I'd rather him care too much than too little. I suspect coaching feels the same since it's clear they haven't asked him to suppress any behavior.

How often has it taken him out of the play? It cost him like 2 seconds this past game, which agreed, isn't ideal. But that is rare. Usually the puck is frozen.

Being frustrated at times is not mutually exclusive from determined body language the rest of the time. He's frustrated right now, he shows it for a second and everyone is focusing on it. But then he gets back to playing. He's not skating around looking like Eeyore all game. That is a gross exaggeration.

Toropchenko has zero NHL skill, gets frustrated and calls out the whole team of far better players in the post game interview.

Lame. Completely disagree.

Thomas’ body language is infectious. He is supposedly our most elite talent and he acts like a little bitch.

What nonsense is this? Coming from an opposing point of view is not an opinion. Real head scratcher there.
You've completely missed it. It's a weird thing that many people do. Mirrors are not opinions.

And how often does RT's bitchfest take him out of the play, @Majorityof1?

Every single time.

Whether it's physically or mentally, his counter cellies are taking him out of the play every single time.

I didn't miss it. Quite the opposite. The funny thing about opinions is that my opinion could agree with you, it could be the complete opposite, it could be somewhere in between, hell it could even be a nonsensical metaphor comparing opinions to mirrors.

How can a player under 40 years old FORGET that his team is in OT???? Did he have a mini-stroke (aschemia) just for the wrong couple seconds??? Talk about The Blues' bad luck. I can only hope at the end of this season, that losing this one games secures a higher draft lottery position by 2 or 3 teams, AND that The Blues get one of the top 3 picks.
Going off of memory, Colt was trying to change and it looks like he thought his replacement already jumped on as he was standing right in front of the Blues bench.

Obviously still a bonehead play as it would have been too many men no matter what he did with the puck.

Since I’m done breaking down what happened with the Blues and I see some Thomas hate about body language. Did anyone else notice that Draisaitl acted like the biggest entitled crybaby for most of the game?

His team only got called for 1 penalty all game yet I saw her (typo I won’t correct lol) complaining to the refs over plays that didn’t appear to be remotely close to a penalty. For example in the first period he simply got ran over by Colt and he cried to refs because it ended a long o-zone possession shift where he was put with #97.

He also threw a cheap cross check from behind just missing Schenn’s head late in the 3rd. Then the story of the game holding the stick BS preventing a breakaway during a gimmicky 3 on 3 OT makes the NHL look really bad if they don’t call it…..which of course they didn’t.

Drai has been a crybaby for many years

Yes. Drai has been like this since he entered the League. He comes off like a total prick on the ice and during interviews.
