-belief Zegras is open to a trade

-if Ullmark agrees to an extension, he will get traded
Kings:
-would like to add a top-6 winger

Necas for Konecny makes some sense if Carolina can get a sign and trade worked out

Lots of teams are looking to add a top 6 winger it seems....
A part that I had written then removed is that the two teams can't come to an agreement. He doesn't elaborate on why.

Carolina probably wants to extract more assets cause they are cheap bastards.
My thinking exactly. Apparently Briere is like that as well but is more willing to lower his ask.

So a Carolina deal, EP for Necas, KK and picks/prospects then they have the money to sign Lindholm. All under the existing cap availability. That includes signing Zadorov, Myers and Joshua
That opening is just the greatest.
Also, I didn't consider how Charlie's constant burning of garbage, and his love of cats, might be contributing to the city's unique smell.

I know it's not a top 6 winger either way but Van was rumoured to be interested in Sonny Milano last year. Wonder if they could do a change of scenery swap. Milano and TVR for Mikheyev. Salaries would match up evenly just another 150k to Van. TVR replaces Cole's role from last years defence. Most likely Myers isn't signed then.

Kings? They free'd up cap space frpm PLD trade
Blackhawks? lots of cap space and need a running mate for Bedard
NYR? Cap Space thanks to SJ pickinh up Goodrow. Though they seem to be focused on getting Kane

Rumour has it the Blackhawks and Sharks are willing to make outsizeds offer for him. Utah HC, Predators, and Red Wings have the cap space, need to get better, and roster spots. Rangers and Kings can make room by shedding a contract or two.
That the Senators are in on guys like Kaliyev and Zegras shows a fundamental misunderstanding by management of what is wrong with that roster.
Couple that with Travis Green behind the bench and I am expecting a disastrous season for them.

When does the UFA negotiating window open? I thought it was today ( 1 week) before July 1 where teams can start talking and negotiating with other team's free agents.
That hasn’t been the case for a while. 9am on July 1st is when UFAs can talk to other teams.
I dont know how credible this is but this site says teams can talk to free agents a few days before July 1.

At this point, I'd be open to moving on from EP before that NMC in the extension kicks in. You can't buy him out if the worst case scenario happens after that.
Management f***ed that one up big time. After his playoffs, they could have argued he's not worth more than $9 million per.

No. It was closed in 2020. There is no negotiation window.
No, Michkov actually did a private workout with Philly before the draft and seemed to be only interested in playing for them.
Basically told Montreal he didn't want to play for them which is why they pivoted to Reinbacher despite sorely needing a player of Michkov's star quality.
It was a very strange situation.

Not extremely excited with Toffoli. A little too slow to be a difference maker for us, but can see why he’d be of interest if we lose out on Guentzel. Meh.
