One of the worst arguments is the whole burning a year off the elc thing
If you want a player in your org, and the cost of doing business is burning a year, f***ing do it lol
Is anyone arguing against burning the year? Would be insane to not do that for a 23 year old NCAA guy who can only sign a 1 year ELC anyways (due to being 24 in this calendar year). No offer sheet rights, no arb rights upon becoming RFA after the season is done, and if he flames out we don't even have to qualify. Win-win IMO.
