wolanin kind of got a raw deal here until recently. he might be looking for a better opportunity
So it’s not a sealed vault.Agents don't work for the Canucks LMAO.
Canucks can't stop other agents from talking bro... what do you think this is? Some Italian mafia shit?
Agents talk in public all the time... it's not really a big deal.
They can only control what they can control. There were zero leaks about most of the trades this year, except maybe Ethan Bear?

So you’re complaining about the fact that the Canucks can’t control agents? So it’s not a sealed vault.

Y’all find anything to complain about… it’s actually crazy. The Drance effect in full force.
He’s about to turn 28… this might be one of his last legit chances to stay in the NHL.Honestly.. what is comfortable for wolanin, i havent been AS impressed as some of what i have read.. but he is hanging ok. He has been better than juulsen.. better than brisebois at some things.. a little worse at some others..
1.125?
Agents talk to the public all the time. You’re making a mountain out of a molehill. This isn’t exclusive to the Canucks. Not control, have you ever done a business deal? There’s usually an understanding to not spill the details out, especially publicly, especially if the party your negotiating with insists on it.
How did Wolanin get a raw deal here?
He was subpar last year in the AHL.
He’s been playing well in Abby so the Canucks call him up… he’ll likely play the rest of the year. Canucks r gonna give him around 30 games and a serious look. They’ll probably offer him a fair extension too.
I’m not even upset about it. I just find the sealed vault rep hilarious when in reality they’re just a typical front office in that regard. It’s a funny microcosm of the Benning lowered bar effect. He’s about to turn 28… this might be one of his last legit chances to stay in the NHL.
I think there’s a deal here that the Canucks absolutely need to pounce on. Estimated career earnings based on capfriendly is $3M.
If he keeps up his solid play… 3y x 1.5m per seems fair

“Earn” is an interesting choice of word.he earned a spot out of training camp, got injured and didn't get a look again until now despite being excellent in abby
I don’t have an issue with it.I’m not even upset about it. I just find the sealed vault rep hilarious when in reality they’re just a typical front office in that regard. It’s a funny microcosm of the Benning lowered bar effect.
I was just poking a little fun(who uses hashtags unironically?) and you took an issue with it lol
Yeah, Compher is a no go for me.Fwiw avs fans hate compher and think his production is like 99% a product of his linemates and the typical contract year bump
Don’t see him as a pure C either.
Barbashev will be in hot demand this summer
I think Gavrikov is fine as a 2nd pairing dman but JFresh charts dislike him so he’s definitely not going to be a popular signing for any team.as much as milstein seems to enjoy steering clients to vancouver barbashev and gavrikov are gonna command like 7-9m combined. how are vancouver gonna afford that?
(also they're both overrated and i don't think they're worth it)
It will be far more than that, but there’s a definite avenue that will see VAN with 16-23ish MM in capspace (OEL).as much as milstein seems to enjoy steering clients to vancouver barbashev and gavrikov are gonna command like 7-9m combined. how are vancouver gonna afford that?

We’ll see. From what I’ve read, private analytical models are higher on him than public ones.he's the classic bad numbers in big minutes on a bad team player that teams will talk themselves into thinking he is actually good and the team is holding him back when really it's the opposite

A Boeser trade, Myers trade, Poolman/Pearson LTI get you a ton of room.
They can meaningfully address adding two top four D and a middle six C if those options arise.
He might be smart to sign with a team that’s tanking. Plenty of opportunity that way, maybe even powerplay time.Re: Wolanin - he's looked solid. But I think the Canucks are likely to canvas around looking for better (college free agents, free agency in June, etc.)
Failing finding a better alternative, he might be someone they circle back to.
Wolanin, for his part, might also want to try his hand at free agency. He's certainly upped his stock this season versus previously. His AHL year was lights out, and he's playing nice hockey at the NHL level now, too.
But you owe it to the Sedins, sorry Sid and Geno, to compete now while they are still playing! With Sid and Geno aging and the club not being a strong Cup contenders any more, I think Hextall was right not to give up assets to take on Miller's long-term contract as an a strongly against the odds gamble on the short term future.
That's not an opinion about other moves Hextall did or didn't make or whether he should be gone for them, just that if the disenchantment with him is over his failure to acquire Miller I think it's misplaced..
Based on what Faber has heard, he thinks the Canucks are going to get Malinski.
