So when Demko got injured, why did management not try to get another goaltender or defensive help, instead they stayed the course with AHL goaltending and no help on defense,,it's almost like they did this deliberately to Bruce,,just to fire him.just my opinion..

If they trade Horvat, how long will it take for this team to be a perennial playoff team again? How old will Kuzmenko be?

This "sign all good players and see what happens" approach is just delaying the inevitable.

Possibly next year.

With Tocchet at the helm and Demo back, we won't need to score 5 goals to win every game anymore. Before Horvat having a career year, he was deemed replaceable by many.

If you don't bring Kuzmenko back, then you better trade Petey too because he's not going to want to stay.

They should sign him but if he's not signed (or close to it) you kinda have to trade him.

If tests free agency and finds a better fit or bigger swag of loot and leaves, and this team has nothing...

People WANT to trade Kuzmenko. People saying that if we don't trade Kuzmenko, it'll be a huge failure.

An extension is by far the better move.

Canucks won't go into the deadline without an extension in place. They'll ship him out for sure at that point.

People still want to trade Kuzmenko?

Give your head a shake.
If we were on our way up you have to sign him but for us who knows. If Petey is his best friend here you might have to sign him, but if there is a trade that makes sense you gotta trade him. Id rather Boeser and Miller be gone before him but Kuz isnt a regular ELC, hes 27 already

Then bridge Kuz without a NTC or a very limited one , sign EP and flip Kuz in a couple of years.

This team isn't good. They needed Demko to play at Vezina level just to barely miss the playoffs. Take away Horvat and they're even worse.

There's no difference makers at center or d coming up through the system anytime soon either.

I don't know how much cap we have and I'm too lazy to check. I would would assume it's that mixed with who's even available. Why give up assets when your main goalie is injured with the position that we're in. Sure it would have mitigated it possibly but it's just another contract to deal with. Plus Martin looked alright last year. Not so much now. Just my opinion

This makes no sense.

Team was already spiralling out of control - why would we use our limited assets to buy?? So we can miss the playoffs and waste assets at the same time??

They didn't do anything to Bruce. They actually tried to contend this year but it obviously didn't work out. Management added two top six forwards and other depth players. Bruce didn't make any adjustments and couldn't motivate his team. His on-ice results were abysmal - should have been fired way earlier just based on results.
