This is the only time in KK`s NHL career that he is getting 6mil per year paychek. Within next 5 yrs time span he will be KHL player. Let him walk and get picks. 1st round pick in Habs hand is much better trade asset than in Carolinas hand.

Now that Bergevin will have an extra 1st round pick if he does not match just do your own offersheet with Pettersson Canucks still have Hughes to sign as well or most likely Bergevin trades for Domi.

Who cares? That’s the whole point. If the Habs care enough they’ll match if not he’s gone…the world keeps turning and we move in a different direction…
What does this have to do with your original comment?

You said that KK should bite the bullet and continue to play for a boss he does not like or get paid less than he could because this is a business.

I’m telling you that these guys have options to leave a bad situation or quickly improve it.

And that is what is happening to KK.

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
It's clear KK doesn't want to stay in this org by how shit he was treated and how stupid Bergevin is.
The fact that Bergevin even tried to trade him and the facts the habs did not even respond on twitter or anything

He's gone. Another failure by this org and by Timmins and Bergevin

But let's waste money on David Savard and Hoffman , 2 players that will bring close to f*** all in long terms

0 plan with this org. The only plan in the last 10 years was and is Carey Price.

No one cares
They have no choice but to let him go and move on just because of the Suzuki situation not to mention the soured relationship that has occurred between the player and the team. He just won the lottery at 21 years old, he is the big winner in all of this and before any of you throw daggers, remember what Shea Weber did to Nashville when he was younger and in his prime.

It's weird how Bergevin will park the money truck in some player's driveway but fight over coffee money with some others.

What if Kotkaniemi becomes the 50-60 point center he can be? How many of you emotional takes will eat crow? This is a gamble you can’t get caught with your pants down on. We have needed centres for 25 years. Your going to let a young one with potential walk for late 1st and late 3rd?

because we have graduated so many 1st round picks into good players we should definitely rely on the draft and development of another late 1st to be our return…

we have gone through years of growth pains with this player and when he is on the cusp of breaking out you let him walk for essentially nothing?

Sober up folks before you lay your hot takes on the internet.

well played by Canes

Hate to say it, I wanted Tkachuk in the draft. He would've been a fan favorite in Montreal.

But I've never bashed KK though. He was a beast in the playoffs. But scratching him twice must be enough for him to want to leave.
Whiners and losers would want to leave……a winner will tell himself he’s got to be better if he wants to stay in the lineup and double his efforts.

At this stage of his career, KK aint 6mil per year centre. Maybe, just maybe, in the future he is in that level. And most important thing is that if he really want to leave Habs, let him walk and take the picks.
Agree…..I’m taking the picks and using them in an Eichel trade
