Practice makes perfect.
Irony is Benson is 1” shorter than Leonard and everyone thinks Leonard is a 6’3” power forward when he’s actually 5’10” lolNo Rudys. @Habs has spoken.![]()
Chuckle chuckWhat is it called when you laugh and throw-up at the same time?
Try that against me, bro and I'll end you. Not gonna work on me, bro.
Yes. That’s why some scouts can sometimes go for lower offensive skills in order to have something else. That’s just a human way of getting comfortable, to diversify. For now yes, from what we think the players in this draft will become but there’s always some flops, busts and players who become way better than we thought.
Well it may not work against you, but he's already had a couple Michigan goals in higher competition games than you've likely ever played in...
I admit I want Michkov just for the entertainment factor. Loved Kovalev and Kovalchuk. Would be nice to have an elite skilled player scoring elite scorer goals - just for the highlight reels.
I didn't read, sorry. Every time I post someting about Price, you answer me the same thing over and over. Long posts always saying the same thing. Please put me on your ignore list. The Price era is over.Yes.
Carey Price was only going to sign for that specific number. Why? Because it perfectly matched the Lundqvist deal from a cap percentage perspective. He was the best in the game and had to be paid like it. Star players are under huge pressure from the union to move the bar. Price wasn’t going to sign for anything less. McDavid for example had to sign for what he did. He had to raise the bar. Even if he wanted to play for less the union would’ve killed him for it. Price was getting it no matter what. If not here then elsewhere.
And don’t forget that Price was at his peak. No reason it shouldn’t have continued but we lost the entire left side of our D core and then Weber got hurt. We never replaced anyone and went down the tubes. An awful waste of talent.
And yet, when we did make the playoffs Price was still stellar. Knocking off the Pens and then the following year taking us to a cup final. First player making ten mil plus to get past the first round. First player making ten mil to get past multiple rounds… and we got a cup appearance out of it despite having a shitty team.
The contract wasn’t the problem. And it’s still not really a problem now. The problem was that we had a shitty GM.
I believe in locking up young talent as early as you can for as long as you can. Because when they reach their prime, you’ll pay through the nose. If you can get a cheap long term deal, it’s amazing value.
Hopefully we do it with CC and Mitchkov (or whoever it is we draft this year.)
PK Subban had that quality. Pull you out if your seat as soon as he gets the puck. This is also a part of it for me as well.
Victory without magic is worthless.
If you dont want an answer, then don’t ask the question. There’s no way Price was going to sign for anything less than what he did.I didn't read, sorry. I knew someone who was inj charge of music in partys. He was always playing Stairway to Heaven and another song from Pink Floyd. Every time, over and over. You remind me him. One song, repeated over and over, like if people would find that song better with time, like if the genious of this song would become better by repeating it. No, we got tired of that song. I have a neighbour who was playting her music loud outside, she had the same playlist, it started with I will survive. The neighborhood got fed up of that song, me included.
By analogy, Price is your Stairway to heaven or your I will survive. Sorry if I sound a bit rude but I can't stand your narrative anymore.

Don’t know but I am curious anyway. The real question is - who would Marc Bergevin pick. Is there another KK in the draft?
Why any team would consider Bergevin for a GM job is beyond me after the mess he left here.Just goes to show how many good GM's are around.Dubas screwed the Leafs for years ahead and other guys getting fired are getting interviews .Recycled Gm's sort of like the same recycled head coaches here for the longest time .Don’t know but I am curious anyway.
Benson is around 5’9. Leonard is closer to 6’ and much heavier.Irony is Benson is 1” shorter than Leonard and everyone thinks Leonard is a 6’3” power forward when he’s actually 5’10” lol
At least Dubas’ mistakes were of a contract nature and can somewhat be explained. Why any team would consider Bergevin for a GM job is beyond me after the mess he left here.Just goes to show how many good GM's are around.Dubas screwed the Leafs for years ahead and other guys getting fired are getting interviews .Recycled Gm's sort of like the same recycled head coaches here for the longest time .
Signing Tavares made zero sense, given their #1 need(s) were a top pairing Dman + top end G. There was enough offense to be had with the core-3At least Dubas’ mistakes were of a contract nature and can somewhat be explained.
Signing Tavares made a whole lot of sense. The contract was crazy and had implications that spilled over into others. Dubas definitely got bent over in negotiations with them.
But man, adding Tavares to that team? I thought for sure they were going to win a cup. But you can’t predict that a player is going to shit the bed in the playoffs every single year. And almost all of them did.
He was young and inexperienced but his mistakes are understandable. I wouldn’t have a problem hiring him at this point. Obviously it would depend on what he said in the interviewbut I think he probably learned something there.
MB? He was gifeted players who were BETTER in the playoffs than in the regular season and didn’t add anything to it. Then there are all the other mistakes that always get listed out. I wouldn’t go near him.
And if he does get hired somewhere, it won’t surprise me at all if he brings in Therrien.
Nick Lidstrom wasn’t available, Tavares was. Adding a star player up front as a UFA definitely made sense. He gave up nothing but cap space.Signing Tavares made zero sense, given their #1 need(s) were a top pairing Dman + top end G. There was enough offense to be had with the core-3
It’s Tavares’ cap space that has kept the Make Beliefs from making serious upgrades to D + GNick Lidstrom wasn’t available, Tavares was. Adding a star player up front as a UFA definitely made sense. He gave up nothing but cap space.
Ok. I was searching the history of the group 10cc. Graham Gouldman wrote few song for other groups like For your Love (Cream) and Bus Stop by Hollies. Eric Stewart was in the group Minbenders. They were not great. They could play a fast tempo blues rock but nothing great except Groovy Kind of Love and Land of 1000 dances. Mindbenders were annoying in their early years of background group of the singer Wayne Fontana.. Not a great Wayne Fontana fan. My opinionIf you dont want an answer, then don’t ask the question. Regardless of if you think I’m overhyping him or not. He was going to sign for the same cap hit that Lundqvist got at minimum. If it wasn’t here it would be somewhere else. And there’s no way MB would let his meal ticket go.
As for putting you on ignore. Sorry no. But you don’t need to reply to my posts if you don’t want to.
Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to play some 80s music. It’s an Xer thing.
I’d argue that it was the other contracts that did this. It’s beside the point though… again, nobody could’ve predicted all of the shitting the bed for years. Nor could they have predicted Tavares injury. It’s Tavares’ cap space that has kept the Make Beliefs from making serious upgrades to D + G
While this is true, the more significant issue was he gave Tavares a NMC (for the entirety of his contract) and set a new standard for future contract negotiations with his young stars. He gave up nothing but cap space.
Yeah size isn't everything, some players are just so solid on their skates that players bounce of them (like Suzuki on Kadri last year).
Obviously he wasn't just that but Sakic for his size was rock solid
