The way he described Alzner in the press conference was nothing like the player he is, or ever was. I think this was a Jeff Finger situation.
i will never understand why fans keep quoting what have been said during a press conference. They will say anything to look good
You don’t really want to see more Bergevin-era Habs stats, do you? o_O
yes. The ones about injuries to key players
How many game changing “franchise talents” have been drafted in the cap era besides Price? 5? 6-max since 2004 draft?

Ovy, Malkin, Crosby, Kane, MacDavid?

So 6 in 19 drafts?
You aren't generous.. It's as short as the list of all my girlfriends of my life and i am not young anymore

Even if I want Michkov… I can live with Smith. That’s not the problem. The problem, IMO, is if Michkov drops to 5 and the Habs pass on him.

Michkov dropping is looking less and less likely though but we will see.
nah...If they don't take him at 5th , it's because they will pick him with the Florida 1st round selection :sarcasm:

I'm not the best at rolling the bench," he admitted when talking about situations where the game is focused on special units. "However, I am improving and I want to continue to improve "MSL". and the there's that Burrows guy,:facepalm:

Anderson really had a good last two thirds of the season.

I was in favor of trading him before that. But I'd like to see if he can keep playing well like that for a full season. He played really well with RHP. Hope they play together all year.
I want that third 1st rounder so bad…but I get what you’re saying.

If Habs can get a minor miracle at Pick 5, my pining for picks will be sharply reduced.

Leonard + Slaf is a terrible haul for picking 1st and 5th. Kakko + Laf bad.

Let's see if they get Leonard first and after, let's see how they will end up in the NHL in 2-3-4-5 years from now.

I won't pretend to know the future of these kids as most of the best players in the NHL today were not even seen as such players in their draft year and most of them took a couple of years after their draft to become who they are today.

Instant superstars are rare.

Of course no one knows but you can compare to the others available.
For now yes, from what we think the players in this draft will become but there’s always some flops, busts and players who become way better than we thought.

Interesting from former scouts, Jason Bukala

His top 6 for this draft:

1.Bedard
2.Fantilli
3.Carlsson
4.Michkov
5.Leonard
6.Smith

Leonard’s passing and vision are not at the same level as Smith’s. Furthermore IMO, Leonard seems to feed off Smith a lot more than the other way around. So then if Leonard ranks ahead of Smith, the assumption is this help to Leonard is circumstantial. That Leonard can self produce by ending up positioned where the puck always ends up on his stick. This despite a tendency to sometimes getting himself out of position when chasing a hit.

You could perhaps give a « very » slight nod to Leonard on shooting or goal scoring. So another assumption is that Smiths playmaking game is a superfluous advantage. Or at the very least, easily compensated by Leonard’s physicality.

Nobody wanted Alzner but Bergevin had a huge hard on. He was confidently replacing Markov

What a moron of a GM. Unbelievable how dumb and condescending he was. "He's good at trades",,, that's bullshit, ever a broken clock is right twice a day.
He was basically supposed to be what Chiarot became

Niinimaa all over again
