Speculation: 2024/25 Trade Rumours, Speculation etc Thread

I wouldn't deal either of them and Salomonsson. All three I expect to be core pieces on this team and to carry a lot of the mail after our current core ages out.

Anyone else is fair game for me depending on what comes back.

That's fine, I haven't seen them much this year. The few times I did I didn't notice any glaring awful defensive play. But it was probably a 2 to 3 game sample size.
Yeah Salomonsson is untouchable for sure. For me him and Yager are the only untouchables.

ROR, 34 yrs old, has no trade protection, 2 yrs left at 4.5m AAV, and Nashville is trending down…wonder if he’d want to go to a contender for those 2 years, possibly his last, or even if Nashville would consider moving him.
ROR would be the perfect 2C get…though very likely expensive

Think you meant to reply to @Buffdog but just fact checking you, it seems that today, for example, the average high is -8° in Whithorse and -10° in Winnipeg. Not sure I'd call that "considerably warmer." Also, considering the lack of daylight in December and January, buffdog's assumption that Cozens likely wouldn't bat an eye at a Winnipeg winter may hold true.

Edit: missed mad dog's reply.
Three days without a jets game and we are fact checking weather haha

Ive had a place near whitehorse since 2010... winters are warmer. We are in a cold snap now but we dont get wind like the prairies.

Maybe winnipeg winters are different than i remember... sounds like this last one was cold as f*** though

If i was cozens id want to play in vancouver... way easier for family to get there than winnipeg.

Buffalo wayyyyyyyyy overvalued Levi in that trade though

I think you are putting a lot of what your scouts are saying in a trade for Cozens but maybe you make a bigger deal and add Byram in

I am not sure about trading Perfetti ether. He has looked real solid and stronger as a player this year.
Kulich is turning out nicely though

My weather app says in Winnipeg right now it’s -26…I shivered just reading that.
In Whitehorse it’s -21…and still dark…sun won’t rise for another hour then it’s only up for 10 hours…no thanks. I’d take the colder temps with the longer days.
I’m in Niagara in southern Ontario…I might as well be going to the beach…only -4

Last winter was a mildest I can remember in my life.
To get to Winnipeg from Whitehorse all you have to do is catch a connector in Vancouver.

Wonder what Marchand would fetch
No thanks….I’m a character guy and he doesn’t cut it for me.
Every time I see him play I spend the whole game hoping someone finally ends his career, and that wouldn’t change if he was a Jet.
Guy is a weasel, and the most deserving of that one big hit that finishes his career off.
I am honestly amazed that when he as licking people’s faces, no one put him in the hospital…I sure as hell would have.

I honestly feel the Jets should let it ride as is and avoid trade deadline this year. We have a great team and I feel we fans are going to be in for a long wild ride.

Yes and if he plays in vancouver you dont - thats my point. Air north has direct flights to calgary edmonton and van... van is the easiest.

Yup we have a extreme cold warning right now, -36c with the windchill. But it's sunny so we got that going for us. We have to be one of the only places in the world that can be -40c with windchill in the winter and +40c in the summer with the Humidex .

Sunniest and warmest summers in Canada!

Brayden Schenn would be a nice get, but no idea what that would cost us, and whether he’d even waive his NTC/NMC to come here (unlikely).

Levi had no college stats at the time he was traded in the Reinhart deal. Besides his WJC stint, he played nowhere during his D+1 season because of covid.
Ah yes - I thought he was traded after his two good years in the NCAA. He was coming off a pretty good run in the WJC and had been good before that in Junior A, but yeah a 7th round, 6'0" goalie with a short but decently impressive pedigree is not exactly a blue chip prospect.

I dont know. I mean Nashville is likely on the verge of a rebuild and he wont fit that time frame. In the past he's been traded for peanuts. He might fetch a 1st but maybe he can be gotten for less.

I expect he goes to Toronto. I get he has no trade value but GMs often consult with veterans about that stuff.

While I think we need to address our RHD, I think a 2C should be a priority for this TDL…we will definitely need the help in the playoffs
