Ehh, I could definitely see them giving another goalie a game against Finland.
Too late for that. Binnington hasnt been terrible either. Given them the chance in both games. Coaches made their bed and now they have to sleep in it. Should of been Thompson in there but here we are....

In the old days, I used to scream to high heaven about the Zamuner-level BS that Canada self-inflicted on itself with roster selection. Because we left so much creativity and skill at home instead of embracing it. The sad reality is that even though that is obviously still somewhat true (Scheifele, Suzuki, Bedard etc.), there just isn't that much talent being left untapped, both up front and certainly on D. Canada just doesn't have the creative depths it used to have, too many elite grinders, not enough visionaries with hands to match.

I mean the game was the opposite in my opinion. Canada had plenty of talent but not enough guys willing to pay the price. It comes a time when the many turnstiles McDavid and McKannon are doing, it doesn't work in those type of games. You need warriors in the top 6 which the US have with the Tkachuk Bros. In Vancouver, the most dominant Canadian line was Toews and Mike Richards cause they played in a tough checking manner. I think Scheifele(who can be volatile) and Tom Wilson would have helped a lot.

Major props to the USA team.

Real solid shutdown hockey in the third against the best collection of scorers in the tourney.

Ehh, I could definitely see them giving another goalie a game against Finland. But I didn't expect them to go with the same guy all 4 games in this tournament and was surprised Binnington started tonight so idk.
Risky bringing guy in cold .I have to agree with Bieska about riding Binnington.Great hockey though regardless.

The Tkachuks did literally f*** all tonight. Zero points, one of them wasn't even able to finish the game. Outside of the ENG all the goals tonight were scored on the rush.

Guys like Schiefele, Hyman, and Wilson would help but mainly because they're just better than some of the guys who got picked.
