his production will be crucial to the teams success in the playoffs, so it would be best if they put him in a position to help boost his numbers and confidence.

No doubt the Leafs need to be great defensively to win in the post-season, but at the risk of being obvious if you don't score you cannot win.

I don't care you get's the points but it's always best if you've got the scoring spread over as many in the line-up as possible

bringing it home at a ppg and Willy hits 90, tonights a night that's as good as any to get started

58 34 88 just do it Shelly
Hard to know what motivates him. Might be to break free from the Shadow of everyone and lead his own line. Even Pasta has moved from the perfect line to lead a highly effective line in it's own right. Keefe can't keep over taxing the few and needs minutes eaten by others.

This guy knows 90 points === 0 if he flops round 1.

Rest of the games are meaningless. Clinch is guaranteed. The mature people understand he isn't willing to play hero for these games. He's saving it.

I'm totally okay with him coasting for the rest of the season. Nylander > you, he knows what he's doing.

Looks like WIllie is as bored with the regular season and ready to ramp up his game for the playoffs. Now pacing for 90 points and should come in under $9m.

Are we still in March?

Must around 60 days this month as it goes on and on and on ...

Not sure he'll hit 90 points if Leafs continue to rely on the PP, they move the puck around so well, who knows how many touches each player has before it's in the net. :sarcasm:

He would have been fine if he played beside Matthews, not juggled around on three different lines. Maaaaby it would have be different with RoR. Nylander dont work with Tavares or AHL players. Should not come as a surprise.

If Leafs want two working lines they should put Nylander with Matthews and Marner with Tavares. Until it dont work then chancge again. No messing with Nylander on third lines and so on. Understand the thought but to bad players to play with.

He is an underrated playmaker, and Robertson, if he could stay healty, can skate with him.

goal and an assist in his last 7 games vs Florida. He is either not 100%, bored, coasting, sulking or something else because over the last two weeks he is clearly not the same player he has been most of this year. Maybe one of his girlfriends broke his heart. ;)

There is a cure for this hockey malaise. We've seen it proven with Matthews. Hit him in the nuts.

Maby Ironhook is teasing him saying he is the only first line Swede on the team. And Nylander only a third line player, who only get to play second line when ROR is hurt.

If u want to send a message. Bench him for one game, dont halfass it putting him on different lines every other game(but never with Matthews the only thing that would make a difference) . That just messes with the big picture (i dont know if keefe has a big picture or if it is more like a ransom letter).

Not for lack of chances of opportunity.

Slumps don't mean he stopped caring or is bored.

He has created a lot of chances and was directly responsible for 2 goals last night but was the third man.

He has also come back to break up plays multiple times.

His game hasn't changed. The results have. Which is why he is a star and not a superstar.

Has had 2 points in the last 8 games. Not great but not something that hasnt happened before. Nevertheless, he has had a great year and will exceed my expectations even if he continues the anemic play for the rest of the season. I just hope he shows up for the playoffs. Especially elimination games

He's been getting his chances and setting up JT and Kerfoot for more. Just not going in at the moment. (Sh)it happens.

I think he looks completely disinterested out there - particularly defensively. But, yah no worries till the postseason right?

His shot count has dropped off the last 2 months. Definitely a factor in his slow down.

His numbers were inflated due to Matthews, that is clear. Still a wonderful player to have on your 2nd line.

He’d have to get real hot in the final 8 games to make that milestone. 9 points off and he hasn’t been producing. Would be real cool if he could hit 40 goals and 90 points but end of the day all that matters is the postseason.

Nylander has hit the post or crossbar 12 times this year.

With any luck he would be over 40 already

Would that be considered a lot? (One every 6 games)
What would the leader in that category have?
