C/RW Jonatan Berggren - Skelleftea, SWE JRs (2018, 33rd, DET)

he's like Nyquist but with legit burner speed. Hopefully he's able to get stronger, then they'd be a real star on our hands.

16 points in 10 games while averaging just 14 minutes per game. The other guys in the top 5 of SHL scoring are all averaging about 20 minutes or more and there's no one else in the top 20 below 15 minutes per game.
and why aren’t his coaches giving him more minutes

really feels like he could(and probably should) get an extended NHL look this year once his season ends over in Sweden

definitely not something i'd have expected even a month or so ago

love wingers that can haul the mail and pass taking the pressure off centerman . think its soon becoming a thing on the red wings

Could he compete for a spot on Detroit’s roster? Detroit is so bad hopefully they are able to sign him and get him some games. With their center depth I just don’t know if he’ll be able to find much offensive success.

Wing is one of two positions that Detroit is actually deep at.

Ain't happening this year, moreso because he's probably still not ready and why bother, if he's only there for a month.

Think they'll check a guy like Bromé at first. There's quite of a winger logjam to be solved, but Berggren is a possibility at 2021-22 season. Don't think he'll get any games at current season.

I think he could but wont. Hes missed a lot of development time and think he should bulk up a bit more first. I could see him coming to the AHL next season and being the first call up type deal

Unless he blows the doors off at camp in 21, he's likely not making the NHL until 2022.
The kid has legit talent, but he missed most of his D+1 and D+2 seasons due to injuries. Another season in the SHL and Berggren is likely as ready as he'll get.
