That's the name that comes to mind for me most frequently as well. I honestly might rather see Savoie traded than Ostlund. Savoie seems more of the same, whereas Ostlund looks like he has that Koivu well-roundedness to him
Even though it’s insanely early I think all our 22’ 1sts are home runs. I would like to hold onto all of them. Savoie has a gear to his game that few players in our organization possess (maybe only Tuch)

And they're all different players. Kulich probably settles in as a (good) middle six winger with speed and a sneaky 20 goals whereas Ostlund is probably a C in the middle six with good distribution and two way play while Savoie could end up in the top six being that speedy dynamo with possession. Can't have too much of any of that.

So Ostlund said he is committed to another year of hockey in Sweden.

Does his play change that or does he stay there? It seems like Rochester would be a better fit for him next year.

Haven't heard lately but he was interested in playing in the SHL. Since he's trying to add mass, the grind of the Rochester schedule might not be the best place for him.

Yep. Need some patience with these smaller forwards. Let them grow enough to handle the physicality of the AHL. Once they can handle it then they can continue their growth and success.

I see a world we’re Ostlund never plays a game in Rochester. Next year SHL, and if he does to that league what he’s doing to the Allsvenskan, straight to the NHL in fall ‘24

Yeah, that's also a possibility. I'm curious if DIF doesn't win its way back up, where he might go.

Any of our Swedish posters with any info on why he didn't play the first game of the series against BIK Karlskoga?

Info from the Prospects Board indicates it is an LBI and not related to the jaw/face thing from earlier. I was hoping to get a look today but oh well.

I think I heard in an interview just 2-3 days ago that he is day to day. So hopefully he is back soon. He missed the last two games of the regular season too, so he played his last game on March 3rd

I can't wait to see what this kid's game looks like in 3 years. Has elite, Selke winner potential, imo
Yea even a bit pre-draft ws high on him noticed he drove the line with lekk and ohgren his tool kit is elite just needs more time and patience than say savoie or kulich

Now has been credited with assists on one of Ohgren's goals. He's driving the lane on this one -

I don't have video of the 2nd yet.
