good night points wise but those 3 assist weren't noticable.

The play where he entered the Panther's zone, directly caused a turnover, gathered the puck and then fed Petry for a primary assist was pretty noticeable.

Agree on the other two assists, as they were classic secondary assists.

the secondary assist behind the back pass looks like nothing but he dragged the Dman to him by himself and created WIDE shooting and passing lane in extremely danger area.

Up to 23 points for the kid. Pretty impressive, especially considering his usage.

Regarding his usage, it's safe to say he's a fixture on the top 6 now. Jumped Kotkaniemi in the pecking order. Being defensively responsible was probably one of the major factors enabling that.

It'll be very interesting to see where he slots in if/when other top 9 regulars come back from injury, especially after adding Kovalchuk (lol).

I wonder where's all the nay sayers now....
Needs seasoning in the AHL for 2 seasons?...

Is pace for 50 points this season, straight from the OHL
while playing for the Montreal Canadiens as a 20 year old rookie.

For the season, averaging 15:26. Even after the last 20 games, still in the mediocre range for forward minutes.

15:26 is actually great ice time for a rookie, no complaints on the habs board.

He's also solidified himself in the top 6 despite the boneheaded turnovers he'll give up the occasional times. Claude loves him.

he was in the 20s recently and was the most played forward

I understand his play has increased lately. I also am going by his season-long usage as we're talking about his season-long production. Theoretically his production will increase now as his minutes do. These are all factual statements supporting the kid. Not sure it requires the debate.

His average icetime was dragged down early in the season because 1) he was sheltered and 2) he didn't deserve ~20 minutes.

His 15:26 TOI is far from mediocre, just circumstantial.

Suzuki was a good pickup for the habs. He’s going to be a stud. I’d actually say Suzuki>Kotkaniemi, but not sure that many would agree

I'm sure a lot would agree because Suzuki's 1C upside is very evident when you watch him play. KK has the potential as well but he's not a surefire like Suzuki. Basically Suzuki pretty much has no real weakness (maybe only acceleration) and his other traits are very high-end, whereas KK still has a bunch of stuff he still needs to work/improve on.

So jealous how Montreal handled him. He and Frost had the same amount of points after 18 games. Flyers bailed on Frost and sent him to AHL while Montreal stuck with NS and he has rewarded that decision with increased/continued good play.

Well done.
