Rumours are pretty high right now that Detroit is taking either Perfetti (more likely) or Sanderson.

Can you quote the Sanderson rumors from any source OTHER than MBH spamming his love for the kid on the HF boards?

Perfetti is a big maybe because Jim Devellano and Chris Osgood are co-owners of the Saginaw Spirit. I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit took Perfetti, but I'd still prefer Rossi far more at #4.

I don't have any inside info or anything close to it, but I heard it from someone who knows a lot more than I, and has been right on things well in advance before.

Rossi seems like a senators type pickup . His complete game is really attractive imo

That makes a lot of sense. Rossi dad (former hockey pro in Austria) was stated in an Austrian Newspaper that based in the talks he had with different teams, Ottawa seems the most likely destination, also the Ducks are likely. Devils should prefer a defenceman, he stated.

Here's the part in question:

"Ottawa probably won't miss out on Marco. Their manager Pierre Dorion had an entire gallery reserved for his scouts when Marco was playing. There have been several good talks with the club."

It's under the paywall I think. Can you get the part mentioning the Ducks?

Historically there has only been one Austrian born hockey player to surpass 700 points. Could he be the next? It’s possible, but historical trends seem to suggest it is unlikely.

Rossi will be one of the most popular sportsmen and very much in the spotlight in his home country Austria in the future. With his very professional attitude and dedication, this will give him an extra push.

It shouldn't be shocking that the Ottawa Senators have a large scouting presence for Ottawa 67's games, and it certainly doesn't mean that they were there to focus on Rossi.

People talk about him as if he’s Danny Devito, but Rossi will be the biggest star the league has seen since Pavel Bure. He’ll do it all, from Conn Smythe performances to toothpaste commercials. Gretzky’s records will look like shards of glass at the scene of the accident after Rossi is through shattering them. He’ll set records in every category. He may even be the first forward to ever win a Vezina trophy. Years from now, we’ll all laugh at how far he fell in the draft.

When has this management group ever picked a player under 5'10. I dont think he is a sens type pick at all tbh. Pretty confident that if the sens do pick an Ottawa 67 its not going to be Rossi.

Lots of teams don’t pickup a small player unless they are really really good . Rossi is that

I do think like any other team the sens want size but I don’t think they would go against going for the bpa due to size. We did have Ennis last year

I do think the way Rossi plays is very attractive to the way Ottawa wants to build

Marco rossi is actually Tyler Ennis splitting time between the sens and 67's. Anyone seen them in the same room?

I can’t see the Sens passing up on a potential #1 RD for Rossi.

I could see Detroit picking Drysdale so wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't even an option.

We also drafted Pageau, very similar size and natural center as well. Rossi is infinitely more talented and has that same all out every shift mentality that Pageau had. Would be hard to pass on Rossi IMO, he's a hardworker and that's the motto in Ottawa. Easily the hardest working player on both sides of the ice when comparing to other guys available at 5. He'll be a very good NHLer and likely able to play as soon as next year.

Yeah they took a chance on Pageau in the third round. Most small players who end up doing well in the NHL are drafted outside the first round. I’m not hating on Rossi, i just like other players better for the NHL and I think he’ll go 7-10. I’d be disappointed if the Sens took him over Drysdale if the option is there.

I hope Rossi plays in Europe before the draft to paint a better picture of his play
