I just pray his size deters other teams and the wild have a chance at least to call his name. I can curse my team and disown them when they don't pick him.

Initially I had Wild taking Askarov then Lundell...not to burst your bubble but Sabres take this player at 7 or wherever they have their selection... Rossi with a promise to contest for a 2nd line role in the NHL pronto! Or whenever the 2020-21 season gets under way!

The Sabres have Cozens and Middlestadt to fight for the 2C spot for the next while. Cozens looks ready to take it as soon as next year. Buffalo should take BPA, which will likely be a winger

Middlestadt should have played another two seasons in college(University hockey) as for Cozens I've seen him play tonnes and I still don't envision him as 2nd line centre...RWing but not centre...if Rossi is available when Buffalo goes to the podium...Rossi will be the name hollered out!

I’m going to prefix this by saying I know Marco personally.

Holy crap this kid wants to be the best. He is the best player on his team yet he works the hardest by a mile; first guy on and off the ice, i know that is said a lot about players but man is it true with Marco. He doesn’t go out on the town, doesn’t party like other teammates; if he’s not playing, he’s training. He lives and breathes the game of hockey, real fan of the game. He’s going to be one of the best at the next level because he wants to be the best, and believes in himself like no other.

If he isn’t an impact forward at the next level, I will be SHOCKED, Rossi has what it takes to be a star in the league and will be.

You draft five centers you get a forward line. Sounds like a saying.

In this case it would be more like "You draft three centers you end up with a center, a winger, and a bust."

Man this kid is all about business. there's 0 chances he fails, he does the little thing that counts.

For that age player, pretty strong lower body strength > just by looking at Marco's lower body, legs and everything.

He might be 5 9, 5 10 center and doesn't have that many pounds on that body but...quality over quantity.
Marco haves muscles just in the right places.

Size, weight, not an issue for Marco, not even currently, sure he is gonna get stronger but,
his physical abilities will not be the issue for his success.

Height is absolutely a concern at the next level.

Not really. Lots of small players have become impact players for teams. DeBrincat, Yamamoto, Marchand, Arvidsson, Johnson, Gaudreau ect. It's a different game now. Rossi is going to be impactful
to say there are lots is an overstatement. Also only one of those players was drafted in the first round (and hasn’t even played a season in the nhl) and they are all wingers. I’m not saying he won’t go top 10 but it will basically be unprecedented. There absolutely is risk that your game might not translate at the nhl level if you are that short. There is a big question mark in my eyes if he will be able to be an impact top six centre in the league. There are like one or two good scoring centres at that height.

Ah...the famous 6.0....

Sakic....Yzerman...Crosby..st louis etc..

About 4 years ago....I looked the 30 players with the most points in the NHL that season and...14 or them were not at 6.0 feet.

The vision , IQ are a lot more important than the height
Don’t put words in my mouth. I didn’t say you have to be six feet. Not even close to what I said. If Rossi was Crosby’s height and had his skating ability I would have zero concern about him becoming a top centre

There are a good amount of small players. Doesn't matter where you are drafted. They are all impact players. So many 1st rounders bust that are dreamy on paper. They are not all wingers Johnson isn't. I also wasn't going to list every single player in the league who's 5'9 and under. There is risk for every player no matter what size they are. Rossi has so much heart and determination to be great. So many players are just lazy and expect their talents will take them far. He has talent and strong work ethic. He's going to be an NHLer no doubt. I hope the Sens draft him and you eat your words and he becomes the next nameplate on your back.

Tyler Johnson is predominately a winger. All the players you listed are wingers. If you named every player in the nhl who is 5’9 or under, there wouldn’t be much more than the guys you already named.

the point about where they were drafted is that there was no risk for the teams to take chances on those players in later rounds. When you’re talking about a top 5 or 10 pick, you need to hit on it. There’s huge risk involved. You’re not looking for just an impact player.

I never once said Rossi isn’t going to be an nhler. If he plays wing his impact will be less than it would be as a centre and I question his upside compared to other players available at 5 for the Sens. I wouldn’t take him but if they do, I trust their judgement. I just feel like people are wrong when they just dismiss his height. There’s a reason there’s very few small top six centres in the nhl. I have Rossi about 8th in the rankings

Tbf I could see Rossi ending up like Point (they are pretty similar in size). If you could get a center like that, that would be insane.
