Big knock on him going into the year was his skating. Definitely doesn’t seem like any kind of significant problem from this tournament.

At this point, he has to be a top-5 prospect for everyone. I’d put him at 3, but he’ll make a real push on Laf, I hope.

The kid has that it factor. Reminds me of a middle-ground of Marner and Jeff Skinner. Weaker skater than both of them, but everything else is unreal. Unreal IQ, hands, shot and passing. He should be in the discussion for 2 right now.

He absolutely is in the discussion for number 2 right now.

It’s a really good year for Canadians.

Pretty excited about the 2020 draft right now looking at the top 5-10 prospects, seems like one of the stronger years in recent memory

I like this comparison. I didn't have the Marner comp, but from watching him this tournament, he reminded me (both just in physical appearance on the ice, way he skates and goal scoring ability etc.) a lot of Jeff Skinner with better playmaking skills. Also not a blazer like Skinner, but really good edges on the rush and in tight.

Who was the last small player with skating below above-average that went in the top five?
DeBrincat is 4th in scoring in his draft class. Although he wasn't drafted top 5, some would have him there in a redraft and he was criticized at the time for size and skating.
