First 16 yr old to put up 35 goals in OHL since Taylor Hall.

Alex DeBrincat scored 30 goals in the OHL before turning 17 in his rookie season. (thou Taylor Hall scored 45 as a 16 year old rookie)

Cole has 4 games left in the regular season, could get 40 goals.
- only 5 fewer what Taylor Hall and 10 more what 16 year old DeBrincat, impressive!.

sure would like to see him on the U18 team next month. perhaps the Greyhounds can do me a favor and pull off the upset in the 2nd. rd. and we can get Perfetti over to Sweden for a few games.

When I say "16 yr old" I don't mean it in the literal sense. I mean it as first year eligible to play in the OHL. I think Debrincat would have been in his "17 yr old" season when he got to 35+. Either way, very short list in the last decade or so.

Leading his team is scoring as a rookie is quite impressive. Was gonna start a ROY OHL thread yesterday but I'm lazy. There's a number of kids with nice numbers. Gotta be close but I don't watch much OHL. Don't know who stands out the most.

Perfetti is good, but I can't help but think his junior scoring isn't as much of a good indication for his ability in the pros as it will be for some players. He reminds me of Nick Suzuki, a player who scored 96 points in his pre-draft season. Like Suzuki, he's a good all-around player who does a lot well, but the size and skating are each slightly problematic.

Suzuki put up 38 pts in his first year.

This is quite a bad comparison. The size isn’t much of an issue. His hockey IQ is the the best in the draft class.

Saginaw will still have quite a few pieces to surround him with next year still. I could certainly see him pushing for 100 pts next year. We can compare second year numbers when he plays his second year.

Agreed, but no one gets a trophy for scoring PPG at 16. Its impressive, and no one argued otherwise. What a player averages in their draft-season is usually a better barometer, considering a lot of players don't get big ice time at 16, and some aren't playing in the CHL at 16.

You wanted to compare Suzuki's 17 yr old season to Perfetti's 16 yr old season. We can can compare 17 yr old seasons when Perfetti plays his next season. That's all I'm saying.

It makes me think you haven’t watched him play if you don’t think he has elite abilities and he’s just an all around player. He’s pulled off some of the best highlights in the league this year. His vision and IQ are top class.

Don’t try to go there. I’ve been quiet on lists of 200, 300 players that I can’t imagine you have an extensive opinion of.

I don’t say anything because I don’t see how it’s productive to call you out. But now that you wanted to be blatantly disrespectful, don’t expect that I’ll let that remark pass without coming back at you.

Go for it. I don’t pretend to watch each player multiple times. I put each player I’ve seen on my list. A resounding majority of them only have one view, because that’s all that’s possible. It’s very much possible, and I have scouting reports on each one of them so try me.
