That's Dorion and Randy Lee telling him "push the pace" "you have the size and skill, all you need is the drive". Awesome news, expecting big things from Big Brown this year!

He has to push the pace because he is one season from the NHL.

Dominate this year with Windsor hosting the Memorial Cup and all, but a return to junior next season is unimaginable to me. He'll be a man among midgets and needs to step up to a higher level of competition. He can't go to the AHL so it has to be the NHL, for one season anyways, like Zadorov before him.

Most of his point are apparently from the power play. How is his play 5 on 5?
He's looked alright to good in my viewings at 5 on 5 (watching Spits a fair bit to follow Vilardi). He seems to of carried over that assertiveness that emerged in the 2nd half of last year. The biggest question with him was whether he can maintain that type of intensity long-term, starting off the season with it is a good sign. Him and Vilardi if kept together long-term look to be the best duo in the OHL this year, especially when it comes to NHL upside (Bracco-Mascherin will put up a bunch of points, don't have the same NHL upside though).

I still really love Brown. Would love to have him on the Sharks.

My top 3 picks for the Habs were:

Keller
Brown
Sergachev

in that order. I haven't seen any of Keller since, but Brown and Sergachev have both really impressed me.

His father should help in that regard. Although I don't see him taking time away from Turris, Brassard and Pageau next year and his talents might be wasted in a 4th line role.

To me he is top 9 or bust, so maybe try him on the wing? Move Pageau to the wing? Keep him down until he forces his way into our top 9? Brown and White have an uphill battle at Center and I love it!

Good to hear, thanks.

I guess the 'good news' is that we have a broken player in MacArthur, so we'll need someone to take over that top 6 spot, then we have...interesting 3rd line players in Lazar, for one, and maybe even Smith who could easily walk or be moved.

I agree with you, Pageau to the wing, White to the wing, not sure, but something's gotta give.

Has a Hat trick 11 minutes in vs Flint tonight, him and Vilardi are going to put up a lot of points togeather.

Dear Sens fans, this Leafs fan shouldn't be the guy to be hyping this kid up on the main boards. Get excited. I have a feeling he is going to make a lot of teams look bad.

Not to brag or nothing (JK that statement is always followed by a brag). But I compared the kid to Joe Thornton and Ryan Getzlaf in this thread a lot and got laughed at. He's amazing.

I wouldn't really classify him like either to be honest. Thornton's vision is a whole other world than 99% of players, and he lacks the meanness of Getzlaf. His skill set is fairly unique, in style he reminds me more of Sundin than either of those guys, but I don't think that is a great one either.

I guess it was more of a generalization. The next huge Center with hands that is a nightmare to defend because of his size, strength, reach, and vision.

I see Brown as far more of a finesse player than those guys. Thornton has other-worldly vision, Getzlaf bulls through guys... Brown is like a much bigger Johnny Gaudreau  obviously not as quick but he plays the game like a much smaller guy. The closest "big C" comparable I can think of in the NHL currently would be Kopitar - he's big but fast and has great hands.

I think its fair to say his play style is similar to Thornton. As its not implying he has the ability/potential.

Very exciting to hear this, thanks for the updates.

He's got a surprisingly deadly shot for a guy labelled as a playmaker

Yeah his shot is often overlooked when we see him play. I remember one of my criticisms about him last year was that he didn't shoot enough, especially considering that his shot is nothing to sneeze at. He's one of the more interesting prospects to come around in a while. I don't remember a lot of guys coming up from junior who were massive, could skate, had good vision and passing skills, a nice shot, and good hands.

You're right. Thanks for doing it though.
Brown is off to a fantastic start. If Sergachev gets sent down in another 8 games that will just add some fuel to that team and it's offense as well.
He just needs to keep working hard on his game and getting stronger.

it's concerning that he only has 3 even strength points.

Seeing as Windsor has been on the PP 45 times already, maybe they should start declining penalties?:help:

How many of those PPs were a result of a play Brown created?

But I suppose there's one in every thread...

No it isn't.

It absolutely is, players who cannot produce at even strength will likely not produce at the NHL level. You then get tagged as a "PP specialist" in junior which is basically meaning you are one dimensional and used sparingly on a NHL roster.
