Personally, I believe the AHL is great for young players 19-23 years old. Wish they would revise the rule and let more players play in the AHL 1 year post draft. From the CHL juniors obviously.

this is the reverse of last year. Last year he stayed, but was sent down half way through. Leon will probably be called up mid season, and be very good doing so.

Draisaitl scoring against men. Men!

Seriously, he looked terrible.

He left Bakersfield at 3AM, got to a hotel in Edmonton, ate lunch, went to the rink, and got thrown into a game with 11 forwards playing. 2 forwards got benched, so we played 9 forwards basically, and then he played almost 20 minutes and scored 2 goals.

Fine with me.

He eat Denny's or IHOP?

I had my doubts that LD would make the NHL this year. And although I did not see the game I have to assume LD played well enough as to pot a couple goals. Even if the rest of his game was a mess (not saying it was), a goal is still a goal and that is how the game is won. Not convinced he is ready but I am no scout either. Have not seen enough of his play this year to form a current position. Either way... Congrats LD on your first NHL goals!

3 games
3 goals
4 assists
7 points

The German is playing well this year. No way he gets sent back to the AHL.

Phenomenal since being called up. 7 points in 3 games. When he's moving his feet he's awesome. Give him 3-4 years to grow into his body and he'll be unstopable.

Seriously, the guy has some wicked vision and his emergence along with Eberle returning, just might be able to keep the oilers offense afloat until McDavid can return.

That line of Hall-Nuge-Draisaitl is beastly... Better that it was with Eberle because Leon is more physical. He's going to be a dominate center in the future with him adjusting to NHL speed already.

His backhand pass is elite too, but I have not seen him use this season.

The guys IQ is honestly as good as Mc Davids. I am not joking. He just doesnt have the speed or hands that Connor does.

Draisaitl will go to help Yak now that Mc David is toast. Eberle can come back to form the Hall RNH Eberle combo.

I love Drai but he doesn't think the game near as well as Mcdavid and that's no shot at Drai's IQ. Mcdavid can make any rush or dead play into a deadly scoring chance.

I think he'll have a Kopitar-esque rookie season. He's also the player that is probably the closest thing to Kopitar.

I think he does.

There is a huge difference between being able to think the game the same way as McDavid and being to execute it on the ice.

Draisaitl does not have the speed, hands or quickness that Mc David has. But they DO think the game on the same level. Its what I believe. Honestly.

I think you're overrating Draisaitl. No one thinks the game at a higher level right now than McDavid. Not a slight against Draisaitl, but McDavid is on another level.
