Draisaitl is just amazing at so many facets of the game. Really hope he wins the mem cup and mem cup MVP

Nice way to end junior

While I agree I think he has proven everything he needed to and then some in junior.

The Mem cup would be sprinkles on top of the icing already on the cake.

While not a generational talent Leon is an upper echelon player and is ready for the next level. AHL or NHL, its past time to see him dominate in a mens league.

had one bad game in months, after, at times, carrying the kelowna offeoffensehrough the playoffs and now he has frustration issues.

Not just their offence either but all the D he plays and penalty killing he does
too.

He's a kid, they all have issues.
I don't know about controlling the Kelowna offence. He was on the #2 line and was able to dominate more easily with easier match ups.
"Players get frustrated sometimes when they lose story at 11"

Little to no point in bringing it up... he or she just wants some way to knock Draisaitl... AKA the WHL Playoff MVP and probable Mem Cup MVP... yes his "frustration" issues have frustrated him all the way to the top of the leader board of the biggest junior tournament in the world... how terrible

Again, it's not just being frustrated during one game. It's a trend I've noticed over several games. If it was just one game we could shake it off and blame it on that. But it's a trend over multiple games and was something I thought I would bring to the attention of people who don't just stat watch.

Drai has been Kelownas best player at both ends of the rink since he got their. He did have an adjustment period when he arrived but he was still the best player. As for getting easy match ups that's where your ignorance is blinding you. He plays against the other teams top players each and every nigh and he almost always has a defensive zone start.

I've seen Draisaitl play around 80 times and I have not once thought he had an attitude problem. His style can be deceiving in that it looks, at times, like he's "floating". He slows the game down to his level and is always in position so using his speed is not always his style.

The Rockets flat out wouldn't be where they are without Draisaitl.

WHL playoff MVP and Memorial Cup MVP. Hell of a final season of junior for LD. Can't wait to see him in the AHL next season.

Amazing post-draft development year for Leon. 37 games in the NHL, 56 more games in junior, WHL playoff MVP, Memorial Cup MVP.

He will still be considered a tier under Reinhart and Bennett, though. :D

HF always goes off the most current information. Until Drai looks good at the NHL level he'll be considered a step below those two.

Thought Appleby deserved it tonight, LD was the best "skater" on the ice but without Appleby it was 4/5-1 win for Kelowna.

Excited to see his future with the Oilera hope he keeps improving.

Seems like all the voters for the WHL and memorial cup MVP are stat watchers too. Apparently only sabresEH watches the games.

Netural Canuck fan who's watch all three play and i see it as

Bennet
LD
Reinhart

but hey just my 2cents

I guess Mcdavid is a step below as well haha.

I have seen few McDavid detractors anywhere. Everyone knows what he is, even if they hate the situation about where he will play.

No complaints if Appleby won. Heroic game by him. Before those two Rocket penalties back to back he absolutely kept his team in the game. He easily could have won the MVP.

Perfectly valid opinion. I have my homer vote in the mix so I think Drai, with his strength, smarts, passing, and puck protection ability will end up the more effective player. But Bennett is fantastic and very well could end up the best of the bunch.

As could Reinhart. You can never discount brains in the game. The best of the best always understand the game better than everyone else and can anticipate plays. That was Gretzky's top strength. He played where the puck was going to go. It isn't fair to ever compare a prospect to Gretz of course. I am just pointing out that elite understanding of how the play is developing can trump everything else so long as the skill to execute is there as well. Reinhart has that. I am very interested to see the player he becomes. Much like RNH, a ceiling is hard to peg.

Great finish to his junior career. No sign playing with a doormat and then being demoted messed with him at all.
I am still wondering what the Oil do with him. A waste to pencil him as a #3c and he might bring a high end D asset back. Or the temptation might be to develop him as a winger but the club will end up blowing their whole cap on their top 6 forwards. I could see them keeping him around for a year or two and eventually moving RNH or Eberle to get more size.

Although he was clearly not ready for the big club last year, we rushed him anyway despite a not so good camp/preseason. It still would have been interesting to see him play under a coach not named Eakins.

To my fellow Oiler fans do you rank him above or below Nurse?

Next season if he's in the AHL he'll be down the middle, if he's in the NHL then either him or McDavid will start on the wing IMO. Either way I wouldn't be in any kind of a hurry to move him or RNH.

Different players that bring a lot of what we need even though they don't have much in common besides size. IMO we need Nurse to pan out more than we do Leon after winning the lottery this year.

Though I agree with you how I meant it is if we were to make a top 10 prospect list would you put him at #2 or #3? McDavid obviously #1

I'd have him at #3, right behind Nurse. I feel like a player with Nurse's size, speed and mean streak is a very rare commodity, and that he is more likely to reach his potential, although LD's potential is higher imo. Both will possess similar value when it's all said and done i'd say.

I think after what Drai just did, I'd put him 1 and Nurse 2 on the Oilers prospect list.

3's where that list would get interesting, IMO. Brossoit? Yak2? LaLeggia? Outside shot with guys like Slepy?
