I think you're overrating Draisaitl. No one thinks the game at a higher level right now than McDavid. Not a slight against Draisaitl, but McDavid is on another level.

Well this season ;)
Mc David: 0.95PPG
Draisaitel: 2,33PPG :handclap::handclap:

After last year's didapointment it now seems that Draisaitel has a legit shot to become a long term 1+PPG scorer.

Never thought we'd see a German player that could have a serious shot to compete for the Art Ross sooner or later.
The boy could really boost hockey here in Germany.

Heck, you could argue that the way he's playing now he's already the second best German to ever hit the ice.

Very well liked by German Canadians, nice to see him having success

Right. Hope to god Leon and Yakupov don't put up some serious numbers, I can't see how all of that top 6 fits into the salary cap.

Then Edmonton will deal with that issue once that problem arises. You don't deal away players with that kind of talent just because you may not be able to afford them sometime in the distant future.

You wait at least 2 more seasons to see how it all plays out. Honestly it could be Hall who is the odd man out.

Hall is the least likely to be moved. Nobody else plays LW.

If, in two years, Yakupov and Draisaitl are reliable top six options, then it'll come down to where Draisaitl ends up playing. If he's centre, you're choosing two of McDavid/Drai/RNH. If he's RW, you're choosing two of Yakupov/Drai/Eberle. Neither scenario puts Hall at risk.

He's impressing me out there. I've been worried about him being a bust for a while but he's actually getting better and better every game. No points last night but I thought it was the best I've seen him play. Starting to learn to move his feet more it seems too.

In the past 3 years Hall collectively has more points than Corey Perry and Toews. If the Oilers make the playoffs, he will be the most important piece. He's plays fast, rough, and at times is a bully on the ice. He won MVP twice in the Memorial cup, which has never been done before and still remains his throne to keep.

Hall haters have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to #4

The odd man out will be Jordan Eberle.

He has the lowest ceiling of the core, he is the oldest. Its my opinion Taylor Hall is oldest core piece and he is still 23 years old.

Never once did I say I was a Hall hater. I simply said that if you are looking at cap space and Draisaitl Nuge and McDavid all are going to stay with the team then it could be Hall who gets you the best dman in return. This is assuming of course you can fill a massive LW hole after moving him. I am a fan of Hall and without him I think the Oil lack punch in their offense.

Went head to head with Crosby last night and came out on top in the corsi battle. Looked dangerous all night too. Not sure why he couldnt score in AHL, but whatever reason it was, its completely gone now

not surprised, I don't really care about ahl stats anyways, some players are better NHL players then AHL players, and sometimes its vice versa.

The head coach of the Condors (his name escapes me right now) said that Leon was actually playing great during those 6 games but hit a couple of posts and the puck just wasn't going in for him. He looked great last night, that one rush he had was awesome.

Leon is playing in the NHL like he did in the WHL...

6GP 4G 6A 10PTS +5

Beastly. Best player on the ice (1G 2A +3) next to Corey Perry. Incredible vision and amazing ability to protect the puck.

I'm okay with trading RNH now :)

I think it was just that he was so dissapointed not making the team after arguably being the best Oiler in pre-season, that kinda rattled him I think, but now back up in the NHL he's right back to it.

I think Nuge was a big factor in his success. They play much better when they are together.

Nah

You trade Eberle for proven reasonably young D-men

Keep that Hall-RNH-Draisaitl line in tact

Kid looks great out there, and brings some nice elements the Oilers don't otherwise have. McDavid, Hall, RNH, Yakupov and Eberle are all speedy, skilled forwards with average to below average size. Draisaitl brings nice size/strength (not super tall, but has a really big, sturdy frame), and is a real change of pace player, a cerebral guy who slows things down. He's going to be a very, very good player, and is a great fit with the other Oilers forwards.

Agreed that if anyone's the odd man out, it's Eberle, who I do expect the Oilers to trade. McDavid, Hall, RNH, Draisaitl, Yakupov and Pouliot is a great top 6, Eberle can be dealt to beef up the defence, which is actually coming along decently too with the development of Nurse and Klefbom, and the acquisition of Sekera.

I know he'll eventually be our 3C but I really prefer Draisaitl on the wing right now with RNH/Hall. Perfect chemistry right now.

Lol @ the polls in the summer saying Marner/Strome were on a different level from Draisaitl as a prospect.
