As far as I remember, when Makarov came to the NHL, he had even better %. And not for a few games, but for a few seasons. So it's pretty possible and up to playing style

Maybe in the 90's, but not this era. Ivan also had 10 on 93 shots last year (~10% shooting percentage). Like I previously said, unless he developed Laine's shot over the summer, there's no reason to think he will continue this goal scoring pace

He looked about as well as you'd expect from someone in their first game. He only had about 10 minutes of ice time and was on the 4th line with Reaves and Upshall (which admittedly is better than our 3rd line most nights). Was fairly good at back checking, but didn't win many board battles. Kid needs to add some muscle for sure.

There are a lot of smarter people than myself who could probably give a more in depth scouting report, but I'd take a guess at saying he could be a pretty good 2C in the (hopefully near) future.

Nice, I like to hear that. Barbashev has always been one of the under-the-radar guys I think will surprise a lot of people. I think his vision and playmaking could make him and Tara a lethal combination.

Will this kid stick with them for the rest of the year?
Brodziak will be out for a little while, so he'll at the very least be here until then.

The Blues' center depth when all are healthy is Stastny-Lehtera-Berglund-Brodziak.

Stas should be back pretty soon, so he'll be the 4th line center until Brodz is back. Once Brodz is back, they (in theory) could shift Berglund to the wing and let Barbashev play 3C.

He should. They'd be crazy to send him down. He's been outstanding.

I remember all the laughter at trading Perron for Pajaarvi and no one acknowledging that the best piece in the trade was probably pick 33. Whoops.

And now we have all 3!

His tenacity is worth mentioning, but best asset at the NHL level so far is his awareness. He's often at the right spot on the ice a beat ahead of when you'd expect, especially given his age/experience and that he's not blazing fast.
