Strome can get 300 points, it still won't happen. Have you ever seen Eichel play, you would not say that if you did lol.
Blake Clarke was considered to be a 1st rounder but he has a terrible season and goes undrafted.

Eichel won't have that happen to him but I'm just saying that we have 9 months until the draft so alot can change and if Strome stays on a PPG rate from now until the end of the season he can challenge that spot. Strome will likely be over a PPG rate from now until the end of the season aswell.

Nothing will change.

McDavid and Eichel will go one or two in whichever order.

Two generational talents.

Through 5 games he has a 3.2PPG pace. I don't think 2PPG sustained over the entire season is unreasonable.

It's not whichever order. Mcdavid is going first overall. As much as it doesn't matter what Strome does, Eichel is going above him. Same goes for Mcdavid and Eichel.

Mcdavid could get injured tomorrow and miss the entire season, with Eichel going on to score 200 points, and Mcdavid would still go 1st overall. Despite what people on this board say, there is no debate to be had about it.

There is plenty of debate from what I've seen. And also from what I've seen, Eichel is that good. This is so similar to the 04 draft in that it was all Ovechkin for years, but then Malkin came on the scene and suddenly there was talk about whether or not he'd challenge for first. By the time June rolled around, there were reports that some teams did indeed favour him.

I believe McDavid will go first. But if Eichel gets taken, I won't be even a little surprised. He's incredible.

But on topic, some question whether or not Strome is a product of McDavid. Not at all. He's the real deal, great skillset and awesome size to go with it.

Agree. Strome is a tremendous prospect and would probably compete for 1st overall in past drafts (2010, 2011, 2012, 2014) but this draft has 2 generational talents.

Wow. Strome with a beauty. Second goal of the night.

It's almost not fair having Strome and Mcdavid and the PP

Rule of thumb, if you're in a prospect thread, discuss that prospect. There shouldn't be a block of posts nitpicking something else creating an off-topic tangent without Strome's name mentioned once in a quick block of posts. There are plenty of other threads to discuss McDavid, Eichel, McDavid vs Eichel, any chance McDavid doesn't get picked first, etc., so use them.

Could Strome go third overall (ahead of Hanifin)? That production is ridiculous. Only 2 pts behind McDavid.

Yes, but the variable of him playing PP with McDavid and playing 5v5 on the second line (the other team focuses their efforts big time on McDavid) will probably push him to 5-7 range. :|

I know this is weird to say as a Canadian who wants us to have the best team at the WJC, but I really hope he doesn't make the squad so we can see how he does without McDavid around for a few weeks.

Hanifin didnt have the benefit of starting his season a month ago. But from what my sources are telling me he played out of his mind this weekend. The top D man on Boston College as a 17 ear old is mighty impressive.

Are your "sources" fellow fans?

There's a Stromefront coming through......

With all the hype coming towards McDavid with his 34 points in 12 games I think Strome is being forgotten in all of this.

Scoring 31 points in 12 games is incredibly impressive, especially when you consider McDavid has had an entire year of development ahead of him.

Have many of his point only come from McDavid setting him up? Possibly, I havent seen enough Eerie games this season to comment (only 4 plus highlights), but either way those are impressive numbers to put up.

From what I've seen, I don't think its ridiculous to assume he ends up picked 3rd overall, and at least in the conversation for 2nd (will never pass McDavid though).
