Idk. Should balance out over the full year. His shot is to good for him not to score ~30goals in this league. I see a 35G, 65A, 100Pts something like that.

He could score 30 if he wanted to, but is that the type of game he's going to play? I would not be at all shocked to see him with 20-25 goals on the season and a buttload of assists.

I agree, and if he scored 65+ assists I'd consider that a boatload no? Anyway I just figure his shot is elite, so why not have both the goal, and assist totals? We both know he capable.

Size seems to be a big thing in drafting players lately, I think that helps Strome. Big centre who is elite offensively is something you'll never get other than drafting, whoever drafts him will get an excellent player, understandable pick after the top 3.

Agreed. For me he's right there with Kylington, and Zacha in the 4-6 range.

Any chance he challenges Hanifin for the 3rd spot? A big center with those skills will be highly coveted by teams.

He has 13 points in 4 games. All the scouts were predicting a massive break out season this year, as he was stuck behind some real studs last. Everyone I've spoken to talks about this kid like a sure fire top line center.

If he keeps up this production and ends the season with 100+ points, I think you pretty much have to take him over Hanifin. #1 centers are just impossible to find on the market, let alone big playmaking #1 centers. We saw one of the best defense prospects in years in Jones drop because of this specific issue.

I think if he keeps up this insane level of production, he goes 3rd overall. Unless the team is just stacked at center and in dire need of defense, I have a hard time seeing a team go with the D over the C.

I agree completely.

As a Flames fan, I wonder what my team would do if they had to make the choice, and Strome ended up with a higher ranking than Hanifin. We already have Bennett, Monohan, and Backlund, and could really use help on D. However adding a guy like Strome would be pretty sweet too. It would give us possibly the best center depth in the league.

Please HC, McDavid, Strome, and one of Barzal, Konecny, Crouse, Sprong (Last two longshots) on this years WJ team.... Next year should be stacked too come to think of it... my gawd.:yo::handclap::)

I can see him going 3rd as well...3-5 range imho.

The only thing that can really hurt him is how he's been moved over to the wing and playing with Mcdavid.

GMs want a center, and playing an entire year at wing will sour them a bit. Not to mention raise questions about Mcdavid inflating his point totals.

If he's going to drop, those will be the reasons why. I'd think it would be better for his development to keep him at the 2c role.

this is just not true. Tonight is the first night all season he's played wing, and the first time he's regularly played even strength minutes with McDavid. He moved up because Erie lost another veteran top six forward (Nick Betz to suspension).

He has been playing the wing on the top PP unit all year with Mcdavid. A lot of his points have come from that.

I hope you're right about the move to the top line being a temporary thing. I would hate to see them stick with because it's working. Would really hurt Strome come draft day.

I dont think that he "plays wing the PP is really relevant" considering there are a lot of centers that do it. And on a good PP with a lot of rotation positions usually aren't that relevant .

If you actually watch the games you'd know his numbers are not being carried by McDavid at all

I'd never say Mcdavid is carrying him. I said other people might think that. Mcdavid has been on the ice for half of his points. And now playing the last game on the top line, if it sticks (I was unaware he was put there due to an injury) it might even raise more questions.

And unfortunately I cannot watch every game. I have only been able to catch 2 so far this season.

Just a little concerned that scouts may see a Klimchuk effect with Strome. I've been hyping, at least on this website, since before the season began. So you don't need to convince me he's not a passenger. It's other people I'm worried about.

You should give scouts a little more credit, they're not your typical HF posters like us.

If the Flames don't get McDavid or Eichel, I want this kid. He looks really good (from what I've seen).

Is there any way Strome goes over Eichel?

A whole season for all these kids to play, things can change. I don't think anybody expects Eichel to drop his play significantly or Strome to play better than Eichel but Strome can possibly do so, if he stays at a PPG rate from now till the end of the season Strome might just be the #3 and have a fight for #2.

Strome can get 300 points, it still won't happen. Have you ever seen Eichel play, you would not say that if you did lol.
