Just watching McDavid you know some 4 or even 5 point nights are on the way. Obviously he will have some slow nights as well but he could have had 4 points last night no problem and that's pretty much every game he has played. Once everything clicks...the skies the limit.

this sad sack of a franchice should really thank Connor McDavid, as its evident, that if they were unlucky to not win the Lottery last year, their previous 3 1st overall picks have not played well enough to even put them into a playoff contention. That team is literally all... Connor McDavid, and without him, that sad sack of a franchice will probably be drafting number 1 again.

this kid is a truly a difference maker, my impression on the that dead beat team is totally different with and without mcDavid, some teams just suck, with or without a certain, ( Florida for example great team with Ekblad is in the line up, but bad team when he's out)

I hope he launches them into the playoffs this year, and oh yea, Fail Yakupov's gotta thank McDavid.

Such an angry comment lmao

Connor McDavid is soooooooooofreakin good, he even makes watching a Rogers SN hockey broadcast tolerable....but lucky for me I get to watch McDavid on TSN tonight, the network that knows how to do it.

To have this much emotional investment in a game, and specifically 19 and 20 year old boys is crazy to me

The Oilers were 2 points out of a playoff spot once McDavid was injured. Then the Oilers lost almost their entire D to injuries and many forwards have missed time too, so they fell again...

Their entire D? So instead of AHL'ers they had to ice ECHL'ers?

Lol "unlucky"

Once again the best player on the ice. His pass to Eberle on the PP was beautiful. Pouliot is killing that line 5 on 5 but they're still finding ways to pick up points.

If it wasn't evident enough after the man advantage moments into his first game back against Columbus in which Edmonton generated more shots in two minutes than they had total in some games while playing with the extra man during his absence, Connor McDavid IS a powerplay.

Oh, and he also makes lines he's not even on better by drawing the top unit every shift. At the moment, Draisaitl and Hall are ventilating second pairings. What a time to be an Oilers fan.

I know this might seem strange but its a BAD time for the Oilers to start winning games. I wish somehow they could just stall for 2 more months to pick up another nice player.

If they go on some insane tear and get into the playoffs fine but no team has ever done it from their position before this late in the season. And tanking for the great pick is not a bummer.

After this, the Oilers arent going to miss the playoffs again for another 10 years or so.

Doesn't matter. No more losing, it's contagious.

No way no way. Id much rather just miss playoffs by one point

Oilers are still without Klefbom and RNH lol

We need a healthy roster

HUH?!?!! yeah screw top picks :help::help::help: we have McDavid we don't need more magic beans. I'll stick to trading for Roster players

Poor Sabres:( Eichel is a tremendous prospect....but McDavid is ABSOLUTE ELITE.

Remember last year at this time, when half the people on this board were THOROUGHLY convinced that the gap between them was miniscule, and that Eichel was more "NHL ready"?:laugh::laugh:

I mean it was kind of obvious all of last year that he was this good, just amazing that so many people could think otherwise.

Good times.

Yeah I had predicted around 60 points for Eichel and around 80 for McDavid before the season started, their paces right now are not too far from that over 82 games. After watching McDavid in the NHL now I honestly think he would have been ahead of everyone in points besides Kane right now if he didn't get hurt.

Really think he would be close to Kane in points if he stayed healthy. He's going to have so many 20+ game point streaks in his career because of the sheer havoc he wrecks on defenses with his speed. I legit believe he would be an effective player if his right arm was in a sling and he played with just one arm because all he needs to do to rack up assists is beat defenders wide and shovel the puck out front. He's that good and barring a major injury to his legs he will be the top player in the NHL for the next decade.

I almost wish I didn't think he is as good as he is. I wanted him so bad on the Sabres. I love Eichel. He's crazy good. In think he's going to be the 2nd best player of the next decade. I just think Connor is going to be literally one of the top 5-10 players ever. Unless he's injury prone which would suck.

Lmao most people admitted McDavid was the better prospect by a noticeable amount but they were arguing the gap wasn't as big as many were making it out to be. I think there might've been one guy who said Eichel was actually more NHL ready than McDavid. If you look at scoring, Eichel really isn't that far behind McDavid, especially if you look past his slow adjustment but his play has continued to improve since the start of the year. Both guys are gonna be elite 1Cs and McDavid will probably be best in the league very soon.

I do, however, remember you arguing that Marner was a better prospect than Eichel no question. Talk about homerism :handclap:

McDavid is a generational player no doubt. Stop bringing him up to try to trash Eichel because Eichel is also amazing as well especially considering he has a lot less offensive firepower to work with compared to McDavid. That's like trying to say Toews is a bad player because Crosby is elite. :help:
