White finally looked to be back to the form he showed last year which is awesome.

"Clutch as hell" ?

Bracco served him up the ot game winner

See for yourself

White's season was constantly derailed by injury/illness. Once he was healthy for a stretch he returned to form.

You're obsessed with Bracco. He's a great player. We get it. No one is debating it.

White being clutch and Bracco having made a great play/pass do not have to be mutually exclusive.

White is sure getting hot at the right time.

Would love for the Wild to grab this kid. I've been pumping his tires a bit on the Wild board, but I really think he'd fit perfectly in our organization. Fletcher and Yeo seem to love their two-way forwards and even seem to limit young forwards until they learn to play a two-way game in the NHL (see: Zucker, Jason). Plus, our prospect pool could use some depth at Center.

I called Tuch to the Wild last year, and I'd love to be right about us taking White this year.

Bottom 3rd of the 1st round. He's the type of player that makes a difference come NHL playoff time as a young bottom 6 who is defensively responsible. His willingness to drive the net and finish in close will come in handy.

A lot to like about this player.

He'll be a pro, not sure about max upside, but he'll be a good Pro, just how far up the lineup he gets is up in the air for me.

He seems to have more talent than a guy like Dylan Larkin, but he's not as much of an engine.

Wouldn't shock me to see a team take him near 15, but I think he's a 20-30 guy. I'm a fan.

This kid looks like an absolute stud.
Wins faceoffs, exceptional defense, and can score. Also great skater.
from Pronman: "White's standout attribute is his hockey sense."

Comparable: Jordan Staal, Mike Fisher

I've seen him anywhere from 15 to 49, but his skill-set seems so solid that I can't see him being passed up in the 1st round by any good organization. Most projections have him mid-late first round.

This guy looks like a very safe bet. He's committed to BC next year so there will be some waiting and development needed, but it also means that he will be more mature and ready going to school (in theory) and playing against players older than him. He seems to have leadership material ("C" with USHL) and toughness to win board battles, while his only real area of improvement is size and muscle; all of these should grow and develop with a year or two in school. By the time this kid comes out of BC, watch out.

As an Oilers fan, I'd personally love to see us take him with the 16th pick and move Draisaitl to the wing. But honestly, a player like this would be a great fit with any team in need of depth down the middle.

White is what you would call a “tough out†when attempts are made to separate him from the puck, as he is very crafty and dangerous during board battles – he can whip a hard pass or elevate a soft pass off his backhand off a scrum. He is a very intelligent playmaker in the mold of Dylan Larkin in that he does not shy away from shooting and is rarely guilty of overpassing. He played on a line with fellow draft-eligible Jeremy Bracco, who is an outstanding playmaker from the wing. The Boston College-bound duo complimented each other offensively and Bracco’s artistry with the puck enabled White to showcase a very good shot and touch around the net. Defensively, he’s outstanding on faceoffs and has been a go-to guy in almost all of Team USA’s critical defensive-zone draws.

Very mature player. I wouldn't be shocked if he put up low totals at BC next year but he'll develop nicely.

I won't say zero chance because that would be dumb, but I will eat my shoe if that happens.

He actually may go above 10. High interest in him among NHL teams. The way he has molded his game into being able to do everything well in all 3 zones makes him a valuable commodity to teams. Need a big face off won, he's your guy. Need a teams top line shut down, he's your man. Need a 5 on 3 killed or or a PP goal he's your man. Need a goal in a big game on a big stage he is your man. Broke Toews record in the U17 World championships and had the Gold medal goal in the u18 world championships in OT while adding a hat trick against Canada in the semis. Was named second best player in the tournament for team USA. It was Matthews then White then Tkachuk. He battled mono for months which disrupted his season. He lost 15 lbs due to mono and still put up 54 puts in 54 games. He is healthy now and highly valued by many organizations. He is a stud.

Jets might be happy to take White at 17. If they do, he'll probably turn out to be a terrific prospect. The Jets haven't been making mistakes with their high picks.

He's unfairly labeled as a 2-way player due to his illness hurting his stats. This is a grown man who'll only get better if he avoids wasting development years in BC

Please explain how he can "only" get better if he avoids BC...so by going to BC to play against men he'll be getting worse somehow?

Friend, I have watched as much of Colin White over the past two years as almost anyone on this forum. You don't have to tell me his accolades and strong points.

He is not a top-10 talent in this draft. Someone may take him in the top-10, but that would be utterly moronic. I'd take him at 14, after the consensus top-11, Connor, and Konceny. And I'm pretty high on him.

Please explain how he can "only" get better if he avoids BC...so by going to BC to play against men he'll be getting worse somehow?

This guy hates BC with a passion, I'm assuming, since he takes every opportunity to **** on Noah Hanifin.

It's still mediocre hockey. I wouldn't sent my potential star player there.

Seems to have really detrimented Johnny Gaudreau and Kevin Hayes, huh?

Then we agree to disagree. I have seen him live head to head against Connor and live at all international events. On the ice against Connor, Barzal, Roy, Marner and Koenecy He has no problem shutting them down and skating head to head with them when he is on the ice. Watching it on fast hockey is a lot different than seeing it live. It is my opinion as I have seen them all live for two years several times and talked to several NHL scouts. I respect your opinion as you seem to have a really good grasp of players.

White going top-10 would be like when Bo Horvat went top-10. A fantastic two-way center who will likely be a Bergeron-lite for years, the kind of player that every team wants. But as good as Horvat is, I just wouldn't take him ahead of someone like Nuchushkin, Morrissey, or even Domi. That's because I prefer offensive upside to controlled two-way players. It's just a personal preference.

The very first time I saw White was at the U17 where he absolutely ripped it up. I've seen him at the top of his game offensively, and he does have a good amount of skill. But does his two-way game make up for the disparity in offensive talent between him and Zacha, or Werenski, or Connor? Not for me.

I think this guy will be the steal of the draft similar to Larkin last year. Just so much to like about White's game. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him go in the top 15.

I think he's the Larkin/Lazar of this year's draft
