If this clown was 6'5" he would've been drafted in the 4th round and never gotten a cup of coffee in the NHL. What a legacy of ineptitude he's been for the Jets organization at every level, from coaching to management to scouting.
idk about all that. i remember him being a late 1st-late 2nd draft selection range from prospect analysts/rankings in lead up to the draft. perhaps there's some size bias in a few of the publications/sources, but not every.

I don't think there was a ton of consensus on him. A couple of rankings had him in the 3rd round I thought.

If he were a couple of inches shorter, he would've almost certainly fallen way down the rankings. His mobility was so bad, I don't know how any scouts thought he could bring that up to an NHL level - and they probably didn't, really...they just thought he'd round out into a big body force on the ice that would cover those flaws.

Swinging for the Chara fences but the pitch was unhittable...

Jets game. Unlovely, no luck, no bounces.

Techical problems: Couldn't join the play by play yesterday, this website kicked me out. I got back in briefly and noticed the adblocker I have was disabled, so bombarded with Home Depot ads.

Somehow got in this morning (on this page only), but if I switch pages I'm out... :(

Question for all -> what is the best current adblocker on Chrome? Thanks!!

Ublock Origin is good, I use it on all my devices.

You can't use the original uBlock Origin in desktop Chrome now (and I think it will be unavailable in Edge shortly as well). You need uBlock Origin Lite. The original Origin still works on Firefox though.

You could never use uBlock on mobile Chrome...because Google needs to keep that sweet ad money going so they can, I dunno, fund the oligarchy maybe? But it works on mobile Firefox.

Let me tell you, it's a whole different experience with uBlock blocking all ads. When Chrome kaiboshed it, I noticed immediately when I started seeing ads everywhere, so I installed Lite, which seems to be doing a good job. Not today, Satan...

How is it now that it's been "not supported" by Chrome? Still effective, or no?
The original uBlock origin used an API that's been phased out of Google's extension framework for security reasons (the old framework allowed extensions access to too much of your browsing data). uBlock Origin Lite works with the new framework and is still effective.

If it's "not supported" by chrome anymore, that's news to me, because I'm still not seeing any ads.
Not sure if it rolled out for everyone at the same time but as of Windows Chrome version 133.0.6943.142, which released last week, uBlock Origin is not supported (the icon is crossed out if you check your extensions). If you're not autoupdating Chrome then maybe you haven't got the latest version yet?

Never mind the fact that Chara was a third round pick in one of the weakest drafts in NHL history (‘96).

Chara seems like one of those unicorn players that you’re not going to ever be able to reliably project, similar to Dustin Byfuglien.

Idk how easy just to label a consensus in that draft range though. There's usually a lot of variability since prospect value tend to flatten after the top 10, and usually late 1st - mid 2nd they're kind of interchangeable to a degree.

Here is some individual ranks

And their consensus based on a scale of 11 sources

Firefox is the way to go on desktop
I waffle back and forth between Firefox and Chrome. Kinda depends what I'm doing. Generally I trust Firefox more, which is to say more than not at all. Maybe a little.

I have adblock plus which is fine for all the browsers, but never tried Ublock.

If Stanley is not benched against the Rangers ... Arniel will be slowly losing the room. If Pionk is injuried than I can see Stanley in.
Comments like this are just ridiculous.

First, because playing a bottom pair D who makes some mistakes is something that EVERY team does.
Second, because I am sure the other players appreciate the fact that the coaching staff give players a chance to improve and don't feel like every mistake might cost them their spot
Third, WE ARE THE NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. That has a lot to do with coaching. Im sure the players are very happy with the Staff, and especially Arniel who seems to be extremely well liked and respected.

Just because you dont want Stanley in the lineup doesn't mean the team is up in arms about it.

Yes, if only all of those hockey professionals were as smart as you!

Not like they didn't like build and coach the top team in the best league in the world or something.

Maybe you can build a bunch of robots that will play exactly the way all of your charts and graphs say they will - then you'd be super happy! You wouldn't have to worry about the many complexities and intangibles of a team sport like hockey!!!

Every 3rd pairing has been benched for mistakes ... so why would Stanley get special treatment was my point.
This goes for any work place ... if you treat your employees differently you are going to run into problems.
Good read from Sportsnet.
