Damn you Fanta… you would have been a great duck. I’m sure he spooked the Ducks enough to pass on him. My ducks remain cursed.

Dumais doesn't belong on that list yet IMO. Hope I'm wrong though!

Chinakov seems to be a forgetten man around here lately. He started to really come into his own before he got hurt last year. I'm really excited for him this year.

Yeah Dumais is a bit away but he is a shooter too.

Chinakhov had the injury and Marchenko stole the show, people can only remember one at a time lol

Oh...

He will definitely go back to school because who would want to go to Columbus.

who would want to go to columbus? better yet who would want to live in columbus? oh… just the 1.7 million+ people who take great pride living in the 614 and being from there, like myself.

buzz off.

welcome tilli!!!

Intel, Microsoft, booming population, variety of great suburbs, booming housing market, really great schools, growing night life scene.

Yeah, definitely flyover country lmao

Yup, no complaints here at all

I personally believe Fantilli > Carlsson
I honestly liked Carlsson a bit more myself but Columbus is still getting a helll of a player with Fantilli, he will fit in well with what they have there.

Columbus signed their Stanley Cup with this pick, 100%
He is an improved version of Jonathan Toews.

Winner with a capital W (just like Jonathan Toews)

at 18 he is already

Mens world champion
World juniors champion
Hobey Baker winner
NCAA champion
NCAA all star
Clark Cup play-offs mvp
Clark Cup Champion
USHL all-star

Bedard sells you tickets, media coverage
Fantilli wins you championships.

Tremendous pick by CBJ. My only worry would be their wingers being older once they get up and running but they have the two most important sports covered in center and defense. Fantilli is a tremendous 1C +Kent Johnson is a great 2C. Their defense looks amazing with Mateychuk and Jiricek. They're giving NJD vibes, wouldn't be surprised if we're fighting with them for the next decade + along with Carolina for Metro supremacy.

Very thrilled to have him. Cherry on top that he made it clear to the CBJ and others that he wanted to be here.

Hoping he's the best draft pick we've ever had.

Welcome Fanta

I like the Toews comparison.

None of these wings are in prime years yet

Laine 25 (possibly C next season)
Marchenko 22
Chinakhov 22
Johnson 20 (possibly C in the future)
Sillinger 20 (C or W , remains to be seen)
Dumais 19
Texier 23

There's more but just that list shows the wings are young and extremely potential.

Happy for CBJ getting this elite 1C prospect. I also love how he wants to play for them. Having guys like Johnson, Laine, Gaudreau, Marchenko, Texier, Roslovic, Chinakhov supplanting him on F, then Jiricek and Mateychuk on the way on D with Werenski - this pick turns them around a few years quicker I think.

Add Chinakhov and Dumais to that list.

That's a LOT of firepower.

Those were NHL proven players.

Dumais is long ways away from being a top6 NHL player

Laine is 25y, Marchenko 23y, Dumais 19y, Johnson 20y.
Even Gaudreay should have 3-5 quality years left.

Wingers are easiest to acquire

He’s going to play with Gaudreau/Laine/Johnson up front

Columbus had a franchise record man games lost to injury season and it played a massive part on why they finished with Fantilli.

They’ve already added Babcock, Provorov, Severson and have one of the best prospect pools in the league

Wingers have the weirdest prime tbh, they either come in like a house of fire like Laine did and fizzle off a bit or late bloom. But like I said, it's not the biggest issue, it's the easiest position to find like the bottom poster said.

Agreed, it's more so just where they arguably lack a great prospect. They have awesome guys at every other spot was more so my point. I look forward to playing you guys next year, hopefully Severson doesn't have a ton of revenge games.

It really depends whether Johnson ends up at C or W.
If he’s a W there’s a potential +ppg versatile winger for the next 10 years
