Darryl Sutter singled out Mike Richards on the Sabres goal for not doing his job.

True but lets point the finger at Richards while Greene and McNabb were hugging in the corner.

Richards had a great game, I can admit that, he was buzzing at ES and created plenty of chances.

But, just like he has been for the past three seasons now, he was completely lost in the defensive zone, it was basically as bad a defensive play as you will see anyone make in an NHL game.

Just watch the replay of the goal, you will see why Sutter was furious. But again it's on Sutter also, stop putting one of your worst defensive forwards in a position to fail defensively, it's the Richards vs. Kane line from the Chicago series all over again.

That being said, I think it's stupid for DS to be calling out an individual mistake on the lone goal of the game. How about calling out people for failing to score goals. DS is acting like a Blues fan blaming the goalie for a 2-1 playoff loss.

Same problems in the offensive zone that hurt the team against Philly crept up again today. Nary a rebound or good quality secondary scoring chances. It was one (shot) and done for the Kings.

He hasn't seen the replay yet. Richards may have left the front because , oh I don't know, he thought Greene was behind him covering the front of the net , not going for a big hit in the corner.

Greene was already in the corner. If Richards thought he was still in front of the net, then he's got LSD in his water bottle.

Regardless, the Kings aren't making the Playoffs with Kopitar having a career worse year.

It's not going to happen folks, this team doesn't score enough. Kopitar has to get right in a hurry.

The Kings are already Five points behind last season's pace.

Bad start for a road trip that could be a defining moment but also a drowning moment.

Sens have changed coach and usually that brings a spark to a team.

Montreal has gone through a slump but has bounced back tonite against the Canucks and will be no easy feast.

In Toronto, Bernier has shown recently that he can be a top caliber goalie in the league (inspired by Nelson Mandela I guess...)

Nothing will be easy. So just wake up you bunch of **** !

Kopitar/Carter Last Ten Games:

Kopitar: 0G 4A
Carter: 1G 2A

Kings are going nowhere (not even playoff's) if that remains the norm this season.

As a Matter of fact, Jeff Carter since OCT 28.

Carter: 20 Games played 2 Goals 4 Assists

Ouch.

Absolutely horrible play by Richards. Should have never started to chase behind net, let alone the wrong side. Also, on the play, on the entry over the blue line, McNAbb wandered way over to the middle of the rink, which from there, made it easy for Buffalo to rotate the puck down low. Of course it didn't help at all that Dwight King had no sense of things falling apart, and he was just standing back!!! Way too easy!!

You just made my argument for me.

The Sabres are playing well, the Kings are kind of struggling. Should be no surprise that the Sabres won this game.

It's not surprising. It's just that the Kings really are lucky to be where they are in the standings at this point. It's been Quick/Jones, and a couple other individual performances along the way. 28 games played, and the Kings have maybe played a solid 60 minutes in a quarter of them. I'm not even sure if you can even count that Edmonton game earlier in the year either.

I fully expect the Kings to turn things around, because I don't know if they're just pacing themselves, or if they're not as good as they've been. We won't know until the season plays out, and obviously we've seen this team do crazy things, both good and bad.

It's a miracle the Kings have 33 points, Jesus how good is Quick/Jones.

Those boys are just stellar.

The thing is, its no longer the Ducks,Sharks, and Kings fight in the pacific as most expected.N ow you have to add Van and Cal who have been playing considerably better than us into the mix, making it that much harder to make the playoffs this season. Right now we are a bubble team
at best.

Yeah, if things stay the same, it's going to be an issue. If Kopitar is a 40 point player, it's going to difficult for the Kings to make the playoffs, even if Quick has a .950 sv%.

The Kings have one hope right now, and it's goaltending keeping them in games, and then someone, anyone, scoring enough until they figure out all the issues on the rest of the roster.

The credit the Kings have been living on from the 6-0 home stand is running out. They're now the 2nd wild card, SJ could still win tonight, and Minnesota is 2 points back with 2 games in hand.

The Sharks could pass the Kings tonight with a Win, let that sink in.

SJ will slip up...they always do... even if they win one tonight..they'll choke when it counts. It's what they do.

Just like us in the regular season games that we should win... we don't and we cut it close to the end of the season. While this team has experience, they play with an immature mindset at times.

We do this every year.

Except this year, Kopitar is in a career worse year. The Kings are Five points behind last year's pace. Calgary/Van, are legit and much improved.

Carter has 2 Goals in his last 20 games.

The time to turn this ship around, IS RIGHT NOW.

The Kings are missing the playoff's if Kopitar/Carter don't turn it around in the next 20 games.

They will have Dug themselves a hole, they most likely won't recover from.

The Kings would have to pray, SJ/VAN/Calgary all fall off the map. The Kings are 8-9-5 since the 6-0 home-stand.

While this is true, Van could slide into their spot and Calgary is right behind them.

The Jets,Wild and most likely the Sharks just passed us. Let that one sink in.

Great game!!!

Even better then the loss to Philly...

Looks like Kings will be chasing a playoff spot if the Sharks can hold a 2 goal lead.

Edit: oh yeah anyone else see Richards 3 passes to Nolan in the first... only one connected and was shot wide.... good times...
