Great game!!!

Even better then the loss to Philly...

Looks like Kings will be chasing a playoff spot if the Sharks can hold a 2 goal lead.

Edit: oh yeah anyone else see Richards 3 passes to Nolan in the first... only one connected and was shot wide.... good times...

I also saw him set up King and well, you know what happens when King got the puck.

Poor guy, Richards set up about Five Grade A scoring chances. All of them flubbed by King/Nolan.

Brutal haha.

Richards did seem creative and dangerous with the puck. Need to play him with like brown and Williams. Anyway, the last time I checked, you don't win with zero!! Ouch.

Richards was the Kings best player other than Quick tonight. Will be interesting to see how he follows it up, that has been a huge issue the last calendar year, he will have a great game where he looks like his old self and then he returns to being Brad Chartrand for 6 games.

And DS needs to stop putting him into defensive spots, and I found the calling out after the game to be a bit unprofessional and not typical of Sutter. Richards clearly messed up badly on the goal, but like you said he otherwise had a very strong game and ultimately when you as a coach put a weak defensive player in a defensive situation in a 0-0 game and he costs you a goal don't criticize the player after the game, look in the mirror. This is actually what DS said after the game to a Buff reporter.

"It's a bad play by Mike Richards. You can't drop off. It's a set play for us. You can't drop off in the corner unless we have full control."

So I guess many (including myself) ripped Greene for basically just doing a Kings set play, assume MR is supposed to read what Greene is doing and only break into the corner as an outlet if Greene or McNabb gained possession. Still not to crazy about Greene, McNabb and Richards on the ice at the same time killing a penalty. Reminds me of the Maginot Line.

Sutter should point the fingers at everyone or no one, especially after scoring 1 goal in 2 games. You can blame everyone, including the coaching staff.

Uh he hasn't looked like that at all this season. I know you said calendar year, but Richards had a whole off-season to fix his issues and right now it looks like he did a good job of it. I think he's having a very solid season.

Remember how bad the Kings were last December ? They are Five points BEHIND that pace. With Kopitar having a career worse year so far.

Think about that folks.....

With The Pacific being much stronger this year.

And? We're coming off three straight deep playoff runs. That tends to make a team fatigued.

We're simply too good to miss the playoffs. As usual, we'll sneak in and completely expose all these fraudulent regular-season teams when **** gets real. Relax and enjoy.

I hope your optimism is warranted. However, I can't make sense of all this talk about playoff fatigue. This is December. The playoffs ended in June.

Kind of like Chicago, right?

With this Oilers loss, the Kings are now out of a playoff spot. They really need wins in the next couple games before falling too far behind. Sigh.

It sucks, but I'll wait a few weeks before I start to get worried. Maybe this losing will be worth it when/if they go beast mode in February/March.

But if Kopi doesn't get going, it's game over.

How can people care so much about these meaningless regular season games? Like, seriously, we'll probably look back at this game and laugh after we finish repeating in June.

This line of thinking  :shakehead

We were one game away from getting swept and if that happened, the changes people want today would have been made in summer.

The regular season doesn't matter only when the Kings have their heads above water. At this rate they're gonna be under it pretty soon.
