GDT: Buffalo Sabres 1, Los Angeles Kings 0 (Final)

I like to see this tried for a game:

Pearson-Carter-Toffoli
Gaborik-Richards-Lewis
Brown-Stoll-Williams
King-Kopitar-Clifford
 
How can people care so much about these meaningless regular season games? Like, seriously, we'll probably look back at this game and laugh after we finish repeating in June.

And one can add: of the 34 shots that were on the net, how many were quality grade A shots? Not more than one can count on the fingers of one hand?

And one can add: when did we have players threatening in front of the net?

And one ca add: when did we have shots coming from the slot? not to point out when did we have a player in the slot?

And the list can go on.

It is not the Buffalo Sabres that beat the LA Kings tonite. It is just the LA Kings that did not show up.

You have to make the playoff's for that to happen.

The Kings won't with Kopitar having a career worse year. It won't happen, they do not have the scoring depth for that.

Also the Kings are already Five points behind last years pace. With Calgary/Nucks playing strong hockey.

Every ****ing season we get these knee-jerk reactions from fans and every season it seems I get caught up in a thread like this telling everyone to cool it, chill, and relax. Every ****ing season.

I'm wasting my time here tonight. I'm going to do something constructive, like go take a crap.

Someone need to put a Seabrook shot on continuous loop for him to watch, and force him to watch it Clockwork Orange style. He may have one of the worst shots in the league now from the point. Teams know he'll deak, or do a fake shot then move into the lane to block his shot. He has the most predictable shot in the league.

Yup. That's why I listed the stat.

I know we're all used to them not exactly tearing it up in the regular season but if the Kings have some expectation that it's the norm and they'll just make the playoffs like usual anyway as some of us seem to think, it could cost them a playoff spot. Taking the regular season for granted will eventually bite us in the arse.

Yeah, go look who they beat. I'm sorry Ron, but there's no way you're going to convince me that there's any reasonable excuse for the Kings, with the roster that they have, to be shut out by Buffalo.

It's probably tough to hear from way up there on your pedestal, but this team is currently barely clinging to a wild card playoff spot and showing signs of getting worse rather than better. Anyone pretending this isn't the slightest bit concerning...Id have to call that bravado b

I was thinking the same as you not so long ago. But honestly, after watching this game from puck drop 'till the final buzzer, I am, yes, very much preoccupied and concerned. Yes, we have seen this in the past, last year among all, but what is different this year is the competition in the Conference has heartened up (parity oblige).

Is the absence of Mitchell/Voynov hurting that much? Is Kopitar hurt? I do not know the answers. My only hope is this is the lowest of lows and soon we will see the highest of highs.
 
Remember how bad the Kings were last December ? They are Five points BEHIND that pace. With Kopitar having a career worse year so far.

Think about that folks.....

With The Pacific being much stronger this year.

I understand where your coming from Ron, but you seem like you're condoning their crappy play against bad teams. Losing to a good team, fine we know it happens, but when your 1-3 against the Sabres and Flyers, how is this ok? They're throwing away points in a division that much stronger than last season.

Richards screwed the pooch, he knows better. But at least Mike showed up for the game.

He played really well tonight.

I still think trading someone like Stoll could send a message that this isn't a Country Club and what you did in 2012 and 2014 is history and missing the playoffs in 2015 just isn't acceptable.

He did, other than on the play that scored the game's only goal. I thought other than that, he did have a strong game, but I have no ****ing idea why he thought going behind the net was a good idea there with two Sabres between him and the puck, both of them on the opposite side of the net as he was.
