There is so much conjecture in this thread it is absolutely baffling. This has been an absolute joy to read.

It's truly an amazing thread. I'm on here less and less now, but when I check the board every week or so, I'm reminded that the Jimmy Vesey thing is still ongoing. Even as a Bruins fan I keep forgetting that he exists...other than right here, where judging by the posts it appears he's got HF posters breathless in anticipation. I love it.

Take 2. I've been saying all along he's too smart to go to a team with that front office, looks like he's watched that "behind the B" episode just like all of us.

Sweeney and Vesey are actually pretty close. Two of the three loudest voices in the room for wanting to trade Seguin are gone ( Benning and Chia ). Sweeney was one of the lone voices for not wanting him gone and has been amendment in wanting to give young players more time to prove their worth instead of cutting them loose like Seguin.

Indeed, the Bruins front office is quite different from the Chiarelli era.

I doubt the Vesey would be a fan of Chiacago's western conference schedule. By all accounts, he's a homebody. He is on record as stating that he wants to remain in the northeast.

If Vesey chooses Boston, he could very well end up playing first-line minutes:

Vesey-Krejci-Backes
Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
Beleskey-Spooner-Hayes
Vatrano-Nash-TBD

And about Devils "trending up in the East"... Sure, but compared to Toronto and Buffalo?

With all due respect, the names on your rookie camp roster say a lot less about where you're trending than the W's and L's on your record.

....and the reason he's been tied to NJD is his family relationship with Fitzgerald. Whether that's bs or not is anyone's guess at this point.

Maybe because every scout says that he is more than ready for the NHL? Who wouldn't want a free, possible top six prospect?

They said the same about Damien Brunner.

Basically, so many GM's thinks the same that in turn has caused an effect of driving up the price way over his actual value at the moment, a player who has never played a game amongst adult.

God damn almost onto the fourth thread. This kid will be seen as a bust. He has decent potential but not this type of potential. Justin Shultz 2.0

How are they "dring up the price" when he will get an ELC anyway?

And how is an ELC "way over his actual value"?
