I`d like to see Colorado going all in for him. They miss Landeskog and Nichuskin. Buchnevich would probably fit very well.

To STL:

- Bowen Byram 3.85 RFA 2025
- 1st 2024

To COL:

- Pavel Buchnevich 5.8M UFA 2025

I know its within division, but the offer should atleast be decent?
I feel like the Avs would rather use those assets for a center wouldn't they?

Rantanen has actually been decent when he has played C once in a while. I`d assume Buchnevich would help Rants quite a bit on the defensive end, if theese two were slotted together? I dont see any top-end 2C, thats affordable, hitting the market?

I'd do that.

That's fair. I'd do it. Byrum would fit right in with the new cores ages and would fill the biggest hole on the team. Would the Avs need a bottom pairing LHD going back the other way? We have Scandella as well.

I don't see you making that kind of deal as a Blues fan. You would be creating a hole to fill another.

I don't really think Lekkerimaki would be an "untouchable" for me. But i've never really cared for the guy, so that probably influences things. No idea how high Ruthervin are on him. D-Petey wouldn't be either, though i think realistically, he's probably worth a lot more the Vancouver than he is to anybody else, so it'd be hard to throw him into a trade that actually makes sense.
Then lets see your quantity deal with your big two off the board. So you have Petterson, Raty, Kudryavtsev, Truscott, McWard, Karlsson....2025 and 2026 first round picks

From the Blues Perspective, The Blues love this guy as a player and as a Blue. His contract is something they could keep. He is not an FA until 2025 so there would be an opportunity to move him now, this summer, next year at the deadline or any time in between. The ticket is high (2 1st round pics) because they don't need to make a move this year. It's sorta like - yeah everything has a price. Make me an offer.

The Blues also have the cap space this summer to sign him to a longer team deal. The only question on this is his age (30) vs. the next wave of players that the Blues are building their team around.

A legit big defensive prospect and a number one pick could get this done.

Yeah, weird. Buchnevich is like the Isles Nelson, except Blues can actually make the playoffs. No idea why Blues would move him.
Armstrong doesn't think we are a cup contender and the supporting cast after Thomas-Buch-Kyrou-Neighbours-Parayko is kind of useless. If those players have a bad game or get injured the Blues are terrible.

He doesn't want a 7 year plus rebuild, so if he can get a ton of assets today for a player he doesn't see fitting into their long term plans. He'll totallu bite. But, for the offer, it has to be something that absolutely knocks him off his feet.

It will not be a "1st and a B Prospect". It will have to be something that hurts the opposing team for it to make sense for the Blues.

That is nice start but would want an additional asset.
As a Blues fan I don't mind this but why would the Pens want a guy that's 30 with only one year left if they are going to miss the playoffs. Isn't it time to reboot?

If they are trading Buch, might as well trade Binner. They can't risk Binnington having another down year and trying to trade him then.
I think they are open to trading both. The stated goal of Doug Armstrong is to build around Thomas and Kyrou and the next wave of prospects; SRacial Slured, Bolduc, Lindstein, Dvorsky, Stenberg & Dean. Binny is a St. Louis Fav but his stock is certainly at a decent value to send him to a team for a playoff run. If they trade both Buch and Jordan they would have over 20 mil in cap space for July 1.
