Maybe Berggren, wallinder, 1st for BuchBuchnevich to the wings for Jonatan Berggren++ makes a lot of sense.

That does not make sense at all for the Blues if that's the main piece coming back.Buchnevich to the wings for Jonatan Berggren++ makes a lot of sense.
If those +'s are more valuable than Berggren, then it makes sense.Buchnevich to the wings for Jonatan Berggren++ makes a lot of sense.
Blues are more at the retool then rebuild top d prospect gets them a year or two closer to nhl ready a late first in 24 and a late forst in 25 doesnt speed up the process. Thats my point.Gotcha. I mean the Blues would certainly take that. The more pics they get will allow them to spend some on D and not pass on best players available.
Yep it would be wallinder kasper 1st. Something like that not bergeeThat does not make sense at all for the Blues if that's the main piece coming back.
id do this.Maybe Berggren, wallinder, 1st for Buch
Yes there's an opportunity now to reap a lot based on a team going all in. There's a wider net this summer at the draft when even current playoff teams might consider him someone they want. Lastly the Blues could just keep him until the 2025 trade deadline and have an excellent forward play another year on their top line. So lots of options for the Blues.I don't think he's pushing to leave, but the ultimate question is does he see himself with the Blues long-term or is he looking to test the market after next year? If it's the latter, then it makes sense to at least consider trading him now to maximize the return. I personally hope he re-signs with the Blues, but if he's not gonna re-sign then it makes sense to see what offers are out there. True we are currently in the 8th spot, but the Buch return could really speed up our retool/refocus/rebuild/refresh.
If only we had two Buchneviches to trade.

D Prospects is the number 1 position of need.Willander, Lekkerimaki and D-Petey IMO. We already sold Hunter, and top-notch ELCs are worth their weight in gold. If we were to trade for BUchnevich I'd rather a young forward like Hoglander go back if Podkolzin or another young forward has proven that they're ready to be the next man up, since they would cost less but would themselves be ready to step up.
What do the Blues need? I'd hope we can do Hoglander + Mikheyev (to make the cap work) and 1st as a foundation, since there were comparables to Lindholm, but I think Vancouver's really at a point where, having spent to get Lindholm, they need to be smart about what other futures they trade. He would be a great skilled winger to add, since Vancouver could really use 1-2 more.
I think he does like STL, but he is a single guy I think and two of his buddies, Vlad and Ivan have moved on. I could see hi assimilate pretty quickly anywhere. As I've said all along, it really depends on what Buch wants. If he likes being in St. Louis and wants to stay then I'm inclined to keep him. If he wants to test the market, which is 100% his right, then we've got to get as much as we can for him. But if he does want to test the market then trading him now makes a lot of sense even if it would suck to see him go.
So we can have a declining Buch for 8 years at a 8.5 mil a year cap hit? I really don't think we are in a position to be signing 30 years old to long term high salary contracts.I’m all for trading Kyrou and giving his money to Buch
I feel like Kyrou would welcome a trade out of STL. He is just not a hard worker on the ice. Blues management and fans are about the last group that appreciates a highly skilled guy that simply won't make checking a priority. He was fully aware of his smug comments when Chief got fired and acted like it was an honest mistake. Guy looks like a California NHL player to me.I’m all for trading Kyrou and giving his money to Buch
Sure, Brett Hull is one of the greatest goal scorers of all-time and Kyrou isn't on that tier, but arguably the most loved player in franchise history never gave a single **** about defense. In 92/93, he scored 54 goals and 101 points and was a team worst -27. He was a -1 when he scored 72 and a -2 when he scored 70. He was a career -16 in his time in St. Louis.I feel like Kyrou would welcome a trade out of STL. He is just not a hard worker on the ice. so basically just 2 1sts and a bunch of loose change. Pass. Then lets see your quantity deal with your big two off the board. So you have Petterson, Raty, Kudryavtsev, Truscott, McWard, Karlsson....2025 and 2026 first round picks
And neither 1st is in this draft. Only way Vancouver gets Buch is if they give up a prospect they don't want to give up, and that's probably why he won't end up there.so basically just 2 1sts and a bunch of loose change. Pass.
getting closer, but still a bit light.Maybe Berggren, wallinder, 1st for Buch
Yeah, it's one of those that I'd be satisfied with, but I'm unsure if it's enough to get Army to make a deal at this deadline.getting closer, but still a bit light.
That feels like a price i might take this summer if it's best i could get.Yeah, it's one of those that I'd be satisfied with, but I'm unsure if it's enough to get Army to make a deal at this deadline.
The perk with the deal is the 1st will likely be closer to early 20s, maybe even late teens, where some other teams will likely be closer to the end of the 1st. That's an aspect that's tough to judge on value though. That feels like a price i might take this summer if it's best i could get.
Next years draft is probably going to be stronger than this one. Two firsts is two firsts. They may suck in two years. It is a very tradable asset. And neither 1st is in this draft. They would all be in our top ten.so basically just 2 1sts and a bunch of loose change. Pass.
Tradeable asset, but it's a year further out on development, 2 years out on a potential 2nd 1st. If Army views them as trade chips, then it's not as big of a deal, but if those picks are meant to contribute while Thomas and Kyrou are in their prime, then it's a bigger issue.Next years draft is probably going to be stronger than this one. Two firsts is two firsts. They may suck in two years. It is a very tradable asset.
Blues never won a thing with Brett Hull and it took a loaded Dallas team and Ken Hitchcock forcing Hully to play the entire ice for him to win a Cup. Very few players in the modern game can ignore their defensive responsibilities and not catch heat. I appreciate the goals Kyrou scores just wish he could work a bit more.
perhaps, but if we are dealing buch, i want somebody better than our 9th best prospect and draft picks in 25 and 26.Next years draft is probably going to be stronger than this one. Two firsts is two firsts. They may suck in two years. It is a very tradable asset.
They would all be in our top ten.
