Can he actually play center, or is it more like he can fill in if you need him to if you have like 3 guys injured?

He played C when he was younger (drafted as one I believe) but he is really more of a W at the NHL level.

He can definitely fill in at C and shoulder the defensive responsibilities, but his faceoff % will be below 50% and he’ll make some mistakes (mostly due to lack of reps).

I've seen the Rangers referred to as "The Rags" in various media since the 1990s. It's easier to say than "Rangs" and makes sense so it's become an accepted abbreviation. If you are talking to anyone interested in hockey and say "The Rags" they know you are talking about NYR.

Trying to read something pejorative into it says more about the poster(s) than the term, IMO.

Edit: For myself, I just call them NYR in typing because it's less letters.

A big strength to Vegas for their cup winning team is the defensive commitment from their forwards. Buchnevich fits right in perfectly. Wouldn't be surprised at all.

Absolutely, the more I think about it, the more I think the Blues and Canes make perfect trading partners for Buch. We want defensive prospects, they have one, we want a 1st rounder, they have one. They want a top 6 player to bolster their offense without touching anyone on their roster, we have one.

Any top 6 forward the Oilers trade for will need to be at 50 or 75% retention. They can easily fit Buchnevich at 50% this year and next if they ship out Foegele.

Well start sending foegle out the door. Buch will make you guys a bigger scoring threat and he also plays 200ft so well. Him with drais will be killer.

I think holloway broberg and 1st from edmonton does it. Could take cap dump if 1 year. But the cap is Edmontons problem. Plenty of other teams are showing interest.

I don’t think there’s any possible way blues ownership signs off on 50% retention on a multi year deal. The price would be huge for that to happen so I’d just call that an unrealistic ask. Max value would obviously come if retaining so I’m all for it, but that’s because it’s not my money…
