And Laf is looking better here and there. Fox too while not as great this game. I think there are a many positives.

Yet yeah the negative, the bigger longer contracts to those who are not near top of the league for their positions seem like they are going to hurt the Rangers, like always.

I'm pretty sure every team has contracts like that.

The chances Lafreniere and Kakko are generating that aren’t ending up in the back of the net have surpassed tragicomedy and are entering the realm of me thinking the Matrix is real.

The hockey gods know how long we’ve waiting for these kids and they’re absolutely making us suffer just a bit more before they finally release this franchise from...uh, hockey...hell?

Look at the leadership group too this team has. You have two coaches in Quinn and Oliver that have no NHL success, Trouba wearing an A who hasn’t lived up to his deal and has underachieved, Kreider who I don’t even have to get into anymore, and Zibanejad. They need a legit core group of leaders. And an NHLhead coach that knows his players. Gauthier had it going at played 8 minutes. Listen, I know Blackwell and PDG work hard but my God, you’re not winning games or developing either depth forward. Let’s see what Gauthier has on a line with like Lafreniere and strome. Bad coach that doesn’t want to give certain guys chances.

I said to a friend earlier tonight that this team has no leadership. Or perhaps what they have isn't very strong. We're a young team, so we're going to have growing pains, but I don't think we have a true captain from our pool of vets. I don't think CK is it. Neither is Mika.

I can't believe that no one responded after Richie hit Shesty. Embarrassing.

Good for Buch. Not the greatest fighter, but he has heart.

KK is really showing signs of development even if the results aren't there yet.

Strome is a disaster. I'm not even a Trouba hater, but man, some of his plays with the puck on his stick were not very good.

I wasn't much of an ADA fan, but I'm starting to miss him on the pp.

Before the game I was kinda kidding that he would be put Strome on the first pp unit and it didn’t even take a full game until he did

I think at one point we had 3 guys on the blue line on the PP. That's literally how lost they are. I was fuming screaming at my TV, lol.

We have no one that can distribute the puck back there other than Fox and Panarin. Just give Miller time on the PP other than Trouba... at least he'll actually hit the net.

Tough times ahead.

The work started 3 years ago and there's a new veteran core in place.
This game is by far, the most disappointing game of this season thus far for me..
The work started, but we only now have some, not even all, of the pieces getting in place. The road to be rebuilt is long and difficult.

I wonder if there’s a trade out there to be made for Zibanejad. Could be a major swing to shake up this team and avoid the headache that comes with him being a 29 year old UFA who will be looking for a double digit cap hit and 8 years next summer.

Does anyone remember rookie Buchnevich? He looked like a legit scorer for a little bit there. Had a sick goal against Winnipeg. What happened to him?

I’m still annoyed at the lack of response over Ritchie hitting Shesterkin. That’s your goalie and this asshole intentionally hits him in the head and you don’t do anything about it?

Such a scummy play by Ritchie too. He intentionally went out of his way to bump Shesty AND stuck his elbow out. No pressure, no bump causing it, clearly not an accident. And then he’ll get on mic for an interview and talk about respect and the code and all that garbage. What a scumbag.

And the refs not calling anything either, like wtf?

Did Quinn shuffle the lines at the end of the game ? I thought I saw Blackwell playing with Strome and Laf near the end

Also I have to be honest I get kind of annoyed by Quinn constantly giving too much respect and praise to the other team in his postgame comments. It seems like he’s always talking about how great the other team is. Not just in how they played that night but in the bigger picture. After losses to the Islanders, Penguins and now Bruins. He says: The Islanders are so well coached and solid defensively. The Bruins are men who go to the SCF. The Penguins have won cups recently and have Crosby and Malkin.

It gives the impression that Quinn is giving his opponents too much respect. Like it’s okay to lose to the Bruins and Penguins and Islanders because they’re good and have been successful lately. Like subconsciously he knows they’re better than us and it’s just good we hang with them and if we beat them then gee golly we really got lucky and played an amazing game to boot.

How about you coach demanding excellence and expecting us to not only play well but to beat these good teams? Like it shouldn’t be a shock if we beat the Bruins. It doesn’t matter who the opponent is, we should play our game and we should win. I’d like that mentality from our coach. That’s one thing with AV that I liked (which came with his huge ego) is that he believed we were the best coached team in the league and that we should win every single game. I want my coach thinking that bc then our players also think it. You have a coach who gives too much respect to the opponent and you’re going to have players who do the same. Players who are intimidated to go up against Crosby and Bergeron and think it’s a miracle if they win one against them. That’s not a good mindset to have, even subconsciously, and I get the feeling that’s what we’re getting with Quinn as the boss.

I'm so glad we got rid of the "locker room cancer". Shut out twice already and it hasn't even been a week. Seems to me the only "cancer" on the team is Quinn. What other talented player can we give away today for nothing because our very own Dallas Eakins clone "can't handle them"? Or maybe there was another reason we booted DeAngelo? Hmmm...

Om im done with good defensive hockey. Give me games where it is wide open and 45 shots per team and defensive gaffes galore.

these games are boring

I'm all on board with wins if they are boring but losses? Yeah those suck

Honestly, neither Zibanejad nor Kreider are results of the rebuild. And they both are shit. This is more about "star" vets than kids.
So, they’re not. But the bulk of the team is. If I was expecting playoffs or a cup run I’d be disappointed. But to expect that s ridiculous. So I wait through the growing pains, appreciate how they play good teams close, and wait for the growth. This tough schedule will be better for them in the end.

But the kids aren't the problem. Last year we were scoring a ton with a much worse Kakko. And if anything this year our D is improved due 2 kids. If our stars were scoring like last year we'd be comfortably in 4th now.

We’ll be within a few points of 4th all year. Big deal. They’ll start winning more. I doubt Mika ends the year with under 10 goals. I think Laf and Kakko may score a few more. Chytil will get healthy and so will Bread.
