2024 NHL prospect pool rankings: No. 32 New York Islanders

The Islanders pool is weak on talent, seriously lacking on upside and unlikely to produce more than depth pieces.

Hey you guys!! The Athletic doesn't hate the Bruins after all! The Islanders are ranked #32 this year in the prospect rankings!

I'm sure the B's will be 31, find out tomorrow, but it's an improvement.

Im guessing we will move into the mid 20's if they are being objective

Bruins group is very shallow but they have a handful of yutes who could be pretty good or more NHLers soon - Poitras, Lysell, Merk, Lohrei and Bussi

Not quantity but quality

I’m very big on Merkulov

If they flipped him between Pastrnak & Zacha by game 7 he would be doing some amazing stuff

Few if any line could put 3 guys together who can shoot like these three and have playmaking ability

They would crush it - and Merkulov would morph into an above average defensive center

Honest question, does Poitras still count in prospect rankings or did he just graduate right past that phase. I count him when grading the front office but not sure of the guidelines of a prospect.

He’s 19 he can’t legally drink he does to me

If you could only keep your top 5 prospects Boston’s rates top third overall going through the list

Even teams with great, deep prospect pools would be happy with this kind of return from their system.

Donny & staff are bringing it and all started when Gretzky left and Donny grabbed McAvoy Frederic Lindgren & Swayman

Even Vaakanainen has turned the corner and looks like a second pair for Ducks and only turned 25 this month
