My guess is he will represent Latvia at the World Hockey Championships. First game is May 12 against Canada.
Probably not. He might get a look in one or two exhibition games before the tournament, but he is still a few years ago from the big team. It is also a home tournament for Latvia, so the interest from proven players should be high enough. Locmelis is one of, if not the most promissing young forwards Latvia has, but with 0 pro hockey experience there is no way they let him center any line. Maybe next year, depending on how successful is his transition to NCAA.

My bad!

Guelph better win a game at home...I have a ticket for game 6.
That's why I bought game 4 tickets! Like the Bruins ...Guelph needs to fix the damn powerplay .... one goal in 14 opportunities over the two games so far ....not good!

What if locmelis is one of Latvias better players in the exhibition games?

Yikes not looking good...I guess I get my money back? I will be reaching out with the inquiry soon enough.
Yes, you will get a refund.

Tough playoffs all around. I usually don't get 3 predictions wrong in the entire playoffs and here I am sitting with 3 wrong in the first round.

Brett Harrison is doing what he is supposed to be doing. Shane Wright and Matthew Maggio have fallen asleep for Windsor. Time for Savard to unite them on a line. I don't think he has much of a choice at this point.

Poitras is doing Poitras things, but their powerplay has let them down. Or Maybe it's just Sarnia's PK is that good. Love the little battles Mast/Poitras have at times. The little one doesn't back down and I'm sure they'll have fun with it when they are teammates. I think Mast will do well under Monty. Really jumping up in the play.

Edward is also just being Edward. Man he is hard to play against. I wish he could reel in his need to wander all over the defensive zone. Zone defence may be a great thing for him as opposed to man on man.

Brunet and Victoriaville I think may be in trouble being down 2-1. I'm watching that series with curiosity to see if he should return for his overage year or go to Providence. Haven't decided yet, but he's playing well.

Mantykivi like the article @Saxon Eric posted, I think deserves a contract. Been saying it for a while. But he's just gone next level in these playoffs. He's become almost an elite shut down guy at this level and now we are seeing he hasn't lost his offensive ability.

I've been watching the Petes-Wolves series. Goyette is so good. Great vision and he's all alone out there by himself trying to make a series of it while his team literally scores on itself.

Poitras -4 woof

Does he need to worry about playing defense rather then looking for assist? lol

Doubt it. He's on loan there from Likoping of the SHL. They would probably recall him first.

Thanks Dom, good to know. I think that that point it would likely be pushing to late to matter, as I'm not even sure he could get here before the Providence postseason

Poitras is the Guelph Storm nominee for most outstanding player. He will get some votes but won't win it this year.
