Kuntar is 21 so he has to sign a 3 year ELC I believe per the NHL. Maybe he isnt "signed" and they agreed on contract and will sign it in June when he turns 22 which then kicks in a 2 year ELC?
part of the PHPA which governs the AHL/ECHL that's why it's rare to see a PTO contract at the NHL Level and why PTO'S/ATO'S are terms more commonly used in all 3 leagues more so toward the end of each season, it's just contractual terminology;

The correct answer is as follows:

Signing age is not the age of the player when he signs the contract (21 years of age today) but the age of the player on September 15 in the year he signs his contact (Kuntar will be 22 on September 15) therefore it is a 2-year contract.

Section 9.2 of the CBA

Age of Players. As used in this Article, "age," including "First SPC Signing Age," means a Player's age on September 15 of the calendar year in which he signs an SPC, regardless of his actual age on the date he signs such SPC.

Windsor lost again ,I never saw that coming. Need 4 out of 5 now :oops:.Was hoping for big run for Harrisson.
Francesco Pinelli is a centre I was hoping the Bruins would pick in 2021 ..solid season 41 goals and 40 assists ..leading Kitchener over Windsor ...good on LA for drafting him...we got Lysell ... but I'm happy with Poitras as a centre prospect in 2022 draft

Kitchener has the talent to beat anyone in the league. For some reason, they just couldn't put it all together. But they are suffocating Windsor. The thing that surprises me about Windsor is that with all the trades they made, they didn't get a more experienced goaltender - they are relying on a 17-year-old goaltender. I wouldn't be surprised to see Marc Savard make a switch in the crease.
